So first off, hello all! I've been reading this forum ever since I got my 98 Chevy Metro back in September and I'm fully amazed by the comprehensive and friendly nature of this community. Now to business. Ever since I got the vehicle I've noticed it idles rough in high moisture weather. So I would just let to idle to operating temperature and it'd drive fine. This winter has been really screwy in IL and it went from below zero to constant rain for the past couple days. My metro has not been liking this and will run very rough. I also get terrible MPG and low low RPM. Pulled the codes and I got P0443 (purge/vent solenoid) P0303 (#3 misfire) P0136 (O2 sensor) On the drive to work it got very rough and no power. Pulled over and called a tow. So I went ahead and replaced distributor cap, rotor, plugs, and wires. Now the engine will just crank and not start. I have spark and hear the fuel pump running. Any ideas what to look at? I'm checking the timing belt in the morning |

Due to the engine just cranking and not starting, will that be an issue if the compression test needs to be done when warm? |

You should get a pretty good idea even if it is not warm. |

Welcome! ![]() You get more accurate numbers with a warm engine, but you can do it cold. EDIT: DANG! Can't type fast enough!
