I am running some Sea Foam in the oil and gas and maybe this is adding to the greenish sludge in the PVC breather line and also showing in the cap top of the oil cap on the rocker cover. I will change out tomorrow. The pic shows how it is closing up the tube line into the air cleaner. This is the second time in a week I have cleaned this out. ![]() This pic shows some of the gunk on a paper towel tip as I am cleaning ou. I am running 0-30 mobil 1 syn oil. ![]() This reminds me of a car that is not getting up to heat. Good/ Bad thing is I car pool two times per week and so the the car does not get warmed up at all--I start it and go like about 2 miles all down hill then turn it off-- and in my area the temperature is running 37 to 25 F---- about 25 F in the AM. typ But the other days I drive like 80 miles round trips-- should be enough to burn off any moisture type issues. My PCV is clean and seems to work well. What is causing this Thanks Edited by nwgeo, Feb 3 2013, 01:36 AM.

No coolant loss--- (Yeah-- I know, man I don't want to have lost a head gasket but-- no loss of rad fluid and no pressurerizing of the rad either.) My MPG is down but I figure that is just our E85 gas and cold temps. |

How long have you had the SF in the oil? Also, check for intake/vacuum leaks |

Had it in about two week--about 500 Miles. I did check for vac leaks(I tend to do this rotinely) none I could see. I did notice it looked like a small leak of some sort where the gasket is just below the throttle valve-- so I tightened my three screws slightly that hold all that together. |

it SHOULD only be in your engine for ~100-200 miles i believe, and running your engine at highway can accelerate wear with SF in your engine since it's such a powerful solvent and it's thin. I would change your oil tomorrow, do a few laps, and then check for more goop |

kinda reaching here---looks like water in your oil vapors? no loss of coolant. very cold. short trips. E85 ('cold burn') fuel. I wonder if you are getting condensation inside your pan and oil passages. As a 'last resort' I think I would invest in a oil heater and a radiator hose heater??----in the meantime temporarily try a warmer intake by removing all the intake from the fender to the air filter housing so that you are taking air from the engine compartment Edited by Old Man, Feb 3 2013, 03:06 AM.
