I need help, my son-in-law ran the 1990 geo metro out of gas, we towed it back to the house, and put gas in it, now it seems like to much gas is coming out of the injector. I did check for spark and it has spark but will not fire. I have been told that the float might be stuck, any truth to this, Please help |

You sure you don't have a TBI? If you do have a carb, the float has NO effect on you running rich, the worst that will do is pee gas into your cylinders and then into your oil, which is really worse XD but it won't make you run rich or lean. Check to make sure the butterflys are operating properly. If you have a TBI, Injectors don't like going dry, and I wouldn't know how to fix it. Check to listen and make SURE the fuel pump is priming (turn ignition on without starting, listen for whirring near the back of your car) Keep in mind, running on thin vapors can really kill your engine. It makes a super lean mixture which makes WAY too much heat. This is only really possible on the highway though and you have to keep the RPMS up or the car will stall out Edited by Reista, Feb 11 2013, 11:33 PM.

check to see if your return fuel line is kinked or plugged. If it is there is no place for the fuel to go except into the injector. |
