I don't like the grass at my house... how should I go about planting new grass? I was thinking about using a spreader and just broadcasting Bermuda seed out? I need some landscaping advice people!

Yeah that isn't really a good picture of what it looks like. I don't know, I just want like a well manicured lawn. |

Coche, you're not old enough to have a well manicured lawn. Concentrate on manicuring your finger nails, and call it good. As long as the city isn't on your ass, and the neighbors' doesn't look much better, you're good to go. That grass will still be there long after we're all dead and gone. |

Bermuda grass is a bad idea, it grows, but it will kill off what you have now and overtake your yard, and its like a vine, it will grow under the walkways, and into flower beds. Id shy away from bermuda, maybe go with some Feskew |

If you want good grass then go to walmart and buy a $15 soil testing kit. Test the soil and find out what type additives and put a lot of monies in making the soil perfect and turning your grass green and then you will have to mow it more often and the neighbors dogs will take a in it and the grass will grow up and you wont see it and when you mow it you will get it thrown up in your face and you will get sick and have to go to the doctor and you will not be able to keep up with the mowing and your girl friend will have to mow it and she will get tired of getting thrown at her and she will leave you and take youto court and........................your life will turn to BE SATISFIED WITH YELLOW GRASS Edited by Old Man, Feb 13 2013, 12:33 AM.

All I can say is get a hell of a lot of grass seed and lime. 300 lbs of each is a good start. Wait a second, you already got grass? Anyhoo, spread the seed on thick and mix the lime with water in a bucket and use that to paint the bottom 5ft of all the trees in your yard. Wait a second, no trees either?
