Goody!! I get to jump into this mess now.

Unless you are personally and intimately involved in this case, then you don't know what happened.....period. It is impossible for us, as armchair quarterbacks, to 100% definitively and empirically prove a dang thing. Media bias is rampant, the LAPD has a proven track record of corruption, racism and bigotry still exists, and it's dang near impossible for a man to clear his name if you have those three things going against you.

Manchurian Candidate, anyone?

That being said, it's also entirely possible Doerner was delusional, with a feeling of self-entitlement and a huge chip on his shoulder. People lose their jobs everyday and sit lonely in empty apartments seething over it....justifying in their own minds the actions they will take to "clear their name." The right person in the right conditions can justify ANYTHING, even if society vehemently disagrees with their justification.

When the news outlets first reported this story, and the helicopters were swirling overhead, there was a report that the police wanted the press to "pull back" in order to not give away their tactics to Doerner, who possibly was sitting inside watching TV as it all unfolded. I turned to my father and said "As soon as those copters pull back, and the media has no cameras in range, they're going to burn that cabin down."

VOILA!

Now....if you want my OPINION....Doerner was a nutjob who correctly lost his job with the LAPD and commission with the Navy and something snapped. It happens.

You are correct. None of us know what really happened. I'm betting its far from what they're telling us on the news however. If, for no other reason than the fact they're lieing about the cause of the fire. I'm sure we never will know the real story.

Just to reiterate my position.

I know no more than anyone else who watches the news, I can have a opinion as to how the cabin burned down. My opinion can be wrong or it can be right but based on the news I recieve I can have a opinion. I believe the police had every right to shoot or kill Dorner while trying to comprehed him if he was shooting or threating them while trying to be comprehended. The police does not have a right to burn down property or to take matters of justice into their own hands. The police have the responsibility to do their jobs as intended and not allow corruption to enter their position.

I'm totally awesome! I swear.

I think the question of who actually "lit the match", Dorner or the cops, amounts to, hair-splitting. What's important is, if the cops doing something like making Smores while it was burning. Now if that was the case, then...."LUCY!...you got some splanin' ta do."

Research the NDAA.
The cops fired at too old women in a truck that 'looked' like his truck. Should be apparent that the cops wanted him dead, not alive.
They didn't even check to see who was in the truck.
We aren't being told the whole story and if it's laughable to think that the mainstream media is going to do any real research on.

http://snardfarker.ning.com/page/kyle-martin-cabin-owner-s-son-told-anderson-cooper-live-the-cops-

there are recordings of police calling for and discussing the incendiary variety of tear gas canisters
http://theintelhub.com/2013/02/14/did-police-order-media-blackout-to-cover-up-plan-to-kill-dorner/
http://www.prisonplanet.com/confirmed-police-used-incendiary-tear-gas-to-start-fire-that-killer-dorner.html

time line
http://news.blogs.cnn.com/2013/02/12/police-checking-reports-that-ex-lapd-officer-dorner-sighted/
[Updated at 8:34 p.m. ET] At some point today, a suspect tried to get out the back door of the cabin, but he was pushed back inside, U.S. Marshals Service district chief Kurt Ellingson told CNN's Brian Todd.

It's likely the police killed him out of vengeance. No one will complain about Dorner himself, but it is a bad precedent, and leads to very dangerous behavior, like shooting men (and women) on sight because they were in trucks that kind of, sort of, looked like the suspect's.

transcripts of the RADIO CHATTER make it clear it was not an accidental "tear gas" fire. it was clear they intentionally BURNED HIM.

this is not justice. this is CRIMINAL THUGGERY.

before you get on me how bad Dorner was I DON"T FREAKING CARE.

there a reason we DO NOT WANT judge DREDDS running around. this is what happens.

what if it was the wrong guy? what it their was a tied up hostage.

you say they would not do that.

REALLY? tell that to the two nice ladies in the hospital with bullet wounds when the police "LIT UP" their pickup truck with 30 bullet holes (THANK GOD they were horrible shots !!!) because they thought it was dorner

How do you mixup two little white ladies with a giant black guy and it was the wrong type truck and color.

they committed a HEINOUS CRIME far worse than the crime DORNER committed because they did it under COLOR OF LAW. just wait till its your KIDS at a cottage that they "THINK" is a dorner like guy and they BURN IT DOWN.

DORNER was nuts. These cops were flat out filthy criminals with badges.

The ladies in the truck were NOT killed. They were slightly injured, but the city reimbursed them and bought them a new truck with a big fat MEA CULPA to boot.

Does not make it in the least bit OK. I would sue the pants of them. They deserve worse. What they've done is wrong as Nerys stated and it's disgusting to think about it. They're no better than military soldiers overseas killing innocent civilians.

oh yeah so they survived wit a couple bullet holes (hand and back IIRC) and a bullet riddled truck but because the police were HORRIBLE SHOTS and missed and they compensated them then EVERYTHING IS ALL OK now right?

your not serious are you? really?

DORNER IS INNOCENT TILL A JURY OF HIS PEERS SAYS OTHERWISE.

this is the VERY FOUNDATION of our legal system and preservation of our RIGHTS as we know them.

we all know he is a nasty scumbag but POLICE are to SECURE FOR JUSTICE not LEVEY the justice as they see fit.

I would RATHER someone like dorner get off on some technical loophole than have innocent people "KILLED" by judge dredds on the street. always.
