I love Credit Cards. I have earned over $100 in cash back and paid $0 in fees over the last 6 years. People use CCs as emergency funds or just when they are flat broke. Some people throw a bill that will only have a 2% fee onto a CC that has a 28% fee.
I have noticed that when it comes down to not being able to completely pay a bill, some companies will work with you. You should really let them know before the situation arises though. Many companies have payment plans or even if you are making some payments, to them it is better than no payments.

Credit is not a "bad" thing. When used correctly it is a great tool. Businesses use credit. You have to remember that "Credit" is not your money. Credit means someone is being generous to you even if they make money in the process. Yes, you can bitch about their rules, but again, it is their money. The fee you pay for borrowing (interest) isn't always based on you. If thousands of people are defaulting on CCs and loans, the company will make it up else where. Pay the FULL bill on time and you won't have that problem.

Only put less than you can afford on a CC.

The only reason I got a credit card was because my bank wouldn't give me a $2000 loan on a truck. Was going to put $3,000 down but needed the $2000 at that time. I had been working at the same job for more than a year and the bank gave me a big "screw you". Then they offered I should build credit and offered me their credit card to do it. Nope. I ended up getting a different credit card with better benefits.

Now I have 3 credit cards. One gives me 2% back on everything I buy and it goes to an investment. The other has 5% cash back on certain items.
Never use more than 20% of the total credit available on all of your cards. Sometimes closing out credit cards hurts you worse than keeping them open. Just make sure you don't owe money on those "quiet" CCs. Also, you don't want too much credit on the cards though.

Id go to the local auction and buy left over lumber from jobs they usually have, and start building the cabin i want to live in.

Best answer! Do you have empty land already? How would you keep the county building department off your back? Would it have plumbing?

If you live relatively close to work and don't go over 45 mph you coule buy a used honda ruckus that gets 99mpg. Excellent investment.

Also, if you're buying metals because you're worried the economy may collapse maybe you should be spending that money on guns, ammo, fresh water and food. These and animals which produce food are what is going to get you by in the world as it will be after collapse. People will go back to the barter system and trade goods and services, not precious metals or paper notes. Those things will be of no value in times like that. Sure they may regain vaule if the economy recovers but until that time they won't keep you warm or full or safe.
I think it's safe to have a little money in something like silver just in case.
I totally agree that silver/gold will have no value when everyone is looking for the 3 necessities for survival; food, water, and shelter.
I'm currently using my money to buy land/houses in case the economy really does take a crap so I have a place to stay. Until then I'm using them as rentals for positive income.
Once I move out of my family's apartment here in Cali these coming months I'll be able to 'spread my wings' so to say :cheers

" my strange addiction "

i dont have an extra thousand dollars yet but im heading in that direction , so far i have accumulated $ 240.00 playing games in a local bar one of my co-workers told me about , that he now regrets lol , it's called " bar-lympics" , free to enter , bar puts in $10.00 per player so it varies how much the jackpot will be , he won first place 3 weeks in a row till i showed up . :) . they do a random draw for a bracket , and random draw for the games sometimes you dont play all the games and sometimes you do . its a lot of fun for sure , i would do it for free but dont tell them that .

ping-pong
pool ( 8-ball)
Foosball
table top shuffle board
darts
corn-hole
bowling (1/2 scale )

right now on a 3 week average of $80.00 per week , so if it stays on that course i will have $1040.00 in 10 more weeks :thumb , i will use that money to go to G.P 2013 , i just still cant believe they pay me to beat them and to have fun doing it , of course there is already a couple of women saying its not fair that i win all the time , and to give other people a chance to win , :banghead dont they already have the same chance as i do ? just haters i guess lol anyways wish me luck :cheers
