stupid question; air filter housing

In the air filter housing stack up there is a round rubber gasket (about 4/5 inches in diameter) with a slit in the middle of it. Where does it belong?

Should fit on the top just below the wing nut that screws to the shaft coming up the center.

not quite sure what you are discribing. the tongue that bolts to the valve cover? . 4/5"?



OH, ok. was thinkn of the rubber between top and bottom.

Actually I think were talking about different gaskets.. it looks as if it should fit somewhere around the hole on the bottom of the housing the goes around the throttle body?
