I thought I had my Geo leak free for its 2000 mile journey next week. Well, when we were making the exhaust manifold, it appears as if that o-ring is leaking back there. I am not sure if it is one or two yet as I see it looks like there is a housing that bolts to the head and then the distributor slides into that. I just need to know the size of the o-ring(s) so I can run and grab them at the local seal place. |

I have always took mine to the parts store and matched me up one and never had any problems but others have. Glenn has sourced some orings somewhere that are supposedly the right size. He might tell you what size to look for or he probably has one he will sell you. http://geometroforum.com/single/?p=748265&t=5070249 . |

I just got one from Geo Glenn and it worked perfect. He has the base gasket and also the o ring for the distributor shaft. I saved my gasket and only used the o ring. No more leak. I know the o ring is metric but don't know the size. Glenn may be able to tell you. Edited by freegeo, Mar 7 2013, 09:41 AM.

There are plenty of places in Denver to pick this up. I plan on buying it today. Not going to order something so simple I can get at a dozen places around town. Just need the metric size as I doubt my universal oring kit has one big enough. |

I'll look to see if I can get the actuall size, but good luck finding one local. The I.D. and the O.D. must be correct, and I just couldn't find one, even though I tried a few. I finally ordered a package of a dozen. I have eleven of them left

Seems as how I am getting every answer but to the question I asked, I will post up the correct size when I get home in a little bit. |

Hahahaha, you'll probably get a better answer if you don't refer to anything on the exhaust and having an o-ring . . . because there AREN'T any o-rings assiciated with the exhaust. Sorry, I tried to answer based on the previous answers, without reading the original post. If I had read the orogonal post, I would have been even more confused though, lol |

I highly recommend fuel lube oil stuff Glenn recommends. I had one leak several times even tho new and right size and even tho I used oil on it, once I got some e z turn fuel lube oil on it it stopped leaking. Then the seal in my distributor started leaking... {^*}#%%. Soon maybe ill be oil leak free, seems I have the rest of the engine ok now. |

Lowes' is Danco 15/16" x 1-3/16" x 1/8" Rubber Faucet O-Ring The Suzuki 3.5mm part is smaller ID. From clarkdw EDITED: size JIS B2401 P24 In inches: Suzuki : 0.897 x 1.163 x .138 Std US #213: 0.921 x 1.199 x .139 When I pull my dist tomorrow and replace with GG's part I'll try to mic the hard parts. As GG said, it should be an interference fit. I put a new 213 o-ring from a hardware store in at rebuild and now it leaks. I think the larger ID is the issue; it fits loose in the groove. Even though you have to compress it to shove it in it isn't the perfect fit. Edited by rjsdotorg, Mar 7 2013, 06:09 PM.

I do not understand why so many have trouble with this! I have replaced about three of these things with one out of a oring kit I picked and never had a leak. Its not rocket science really. . |
