I want to chop the top and quarters off a Metro, pull the hood and fenders,...
Well I have a pretty good idea what it would look like.... :P

:lol I had a similar idea. Running one of our G10 engines, hooked thru a Samari trans. In a mini dragster chassis.

We have a few of these printers at work, their pretty cool. Making some of our airplane parts that we use during testing.
3d print vert latches....
It was actually some of the air condition ducting and we had a cradle out on the tail that held a video camera.

BTW, has anyone seen these?

This project looks like it could have used a printed body

and worrying about chopping the top? Not in a convertible...

My hobbies go in spurts. I bought 6-7 Miatas then sold them all and bought 6-7 Geos, then sold them and bought 15 guitars, then sold them and started buying guns. Tomorrow I have a booth at a gun show where I will be selling most of my stuff. I'm thinking my next project will involve a 3d printer. I started researching them a bit more heavily a couple of months ago but knew funds wouldn't be there until I got rid of all the firearms. It will be interesting to see where I am 6 months from now.

Lucky kid! Should get him a bumper-sticker...."Puck fedal-cars, I got a 3-banger!"

As for wrapping one in a sleek, and uber-lightweight, skin, I'm still diggin on the ole V-Dub 1-liter prototype..

I would SOOOOOooooo rawk that! Get me a one-piece silver jumpsuit and space helmet; pull up to a gas station making that fluttering noise like the Jetson's vehicles; jump out, moon-walk over to the nearest human and say, "Human, take me to your liter........of petrol.".

OOh, it does have a White Sox Illinois vanity plate I made. Bumper sticker would go.

I like the idea of passenger in back too - can't mess with the radio

Tomorrow I have a booth at a gun show where I will be selling most of my stuff.
Whatch'a gettin rid of; anything good? Anything beside the Nagant's?
I am taking 3000 rounds of 380, 3000 rounds of 22lr, 3000 rounds of 32, 2000 rounds of 7.62x39, 3000 rounds of 7.62x54r, 8 Mosin Nagants, RPK, 10/22, bullpup 10/22, and an AK slidefire stock. I'm probably forgetting something but that is the majority of my loot. I had to laugh when I set up my booth tonight. I'm not a gun dealer but I was bringing in load after load of personal weapons and ammo. It was kind of funny that I had that much junk sitting around. Of course, that isn't everything I have and did not include all the stuff I got rid of over the past few months. I know the 22LR ammo will be a very quick sale but I'm hoping some of the other stuff will go too. I would be upset if I had to bring it all home but Charleston, SC gun shows are known for not being very good places to sell firearms for some reason. Ammo will go fast but the guns will not.

(been waiting a long time to use this picture I found - thanks!)

Nope, not at all finished with hijacking this thread...

Just got back from the gun show. FWIW, I had $1175 in sales with a profit of $271. Note that a lot of this stuff had been sitting around for a while (i.e. 22 ammo that I bought for $0.04 each and sold for $0.20 each) so it had a high profit margin. I worked too hard for $271 but had about $100 in fun/experience so that made up for it.

Sold 3 Mosins and 4 cases of Mosin ammo. About half the profit was from the sale of two bricks of 22lr ammo. I probably should have cleared my table of rifles and only put 22 ammo out. I would have had a more successful day.

My first thoughts were a printed radio surround to replace mine which has a crack in it. Would probably look horrible....

Great idea for a part that is always in demand. I wonder if it would cost more than ten bucks, though.
