that frame repair looks very good! I don't know about the 8 valve motor but the SOHC 16 valve motor is very durable. I beat the hell out of mine, ran it 2 quarts low on oil and generally hammered on it. still runs good but the crappy auto trans is gone. I would not hesitate to buy a cheap one with a 5 speed like yours. |

The car runs awesome and no more smelly exhaust! Even the valve stem seals must be good because unlike most 1.3L 16 valve engines, this one does not smoke on startup. The only issue I ran into was my throttle sticking or being hard to push at the very beginning. When the car was running bad, I turned the idle screw up and now that the original TB is on this new engine and adjusted back it was sticking. This morning I removed the TB and cleaned it up and now no more sticky throttle ![]() There is lots of old built up carbon coming out of the exhaust right now. The next thing to fix is the rear wheel wells that are rotting away........... ![]()
