It seems oil runs under this screw and seems like on top (in the head), probably passes thur some how Im guessing. I dont know what it does. And in the head that sits right over it the passage way has threads in it (the head passage) but nothing threaded into it, is that right? How does this work, didnt want to unscrew it in case it had to be in a certain spot or something seems to spin easy like its not screwed down or it flots on a o-ring or something...

it is a restricter and regulates the flow of oil directly from the oil pump to the head. it just slips in place and is easy to lose. DONT LOSE IT. If it is not in place the engine will have the famous "Metro Oil Phart" and leave a fogging for insects each time you have to hold it to the floor going up a hill.

Its a oil check valve that prevents oil drainback from oil passages after the engine is turned off. To prevent dry starts and lack of oil in oil passages from drainback.

Its not a screw. Its a brass oil check valve. Its very important. Gently pull it out and store it. You will need it again when you put your engine back together.
