bit of an update .... on other threads, been slowly trying to trace causes for first, a high idle and now, a slightly 'hunting idle'. it hunts for about 2 cycles and then settles down to specs at 800rpm. all else seems fine. used a can of carb cleaner and only found a small leak around the shaft of the egr. it makes the idle jump about 200 rpm when sprayed. i cleaned the egr and maybe the hunting is now less frequent and in a lower range but overall the same condition. i'm guessing all egr's leak slightly around the connecting shaft since there's no seal and it's a sliding fit that needs to be free. curious ... what's your cold startup idle? had mentioned a vac delay valve on the line from tbi to map sensor and removed it for a while with no apparent effect. put it back in line. |
