Mr Mojo Risin'

The coil packs on my 00' Swift have been on there the life of the car (107000 miles) so I figure I should change them. Nothing wrong with them, I just like to fix things before they go poop. So I wandered down to Autozone...$97.36 for ONE of them, there are two on my car. Everywhere else had the same story to tell. Cheapest I found was $66.00 at Rock Auto.
My bum hurts from all the pounding right now...that's freaking ridiculous! :die

:gp If you want to be proactive buy one spare and keep it till one goes bad. Having one is 100% redundancy. They won't both fail at the same time.

I'm right there with you. I had to get one for my '98, and it was about the same price. Mine is a little different style, but still. Cheapest price I found was also at Rockauto.

FOG

know what kills ignition coils ?

excessive spark gap

liquids
heat

in that order

so keep your spark plugs gapped properly , never use Bosch platinum4 or 2 spark plugs (because the gaps are set way too high)
in the dark
with plain water
spray the wires every once in a while
if you see sparks
replace the wires

I wouldn't bother, they don't go bad very often. Plus, your 13 year old factory coils are probably better than the brand new AutoZone crap.
