Im using white lithium grease for assembly lube on my rebuild this weekend, and I have used it last year on a rebuild and it worked great, what do you guys use for assembly lube, some people say no white lithium, and some say that is all they will use? Thanks.

Lucas assembly lube. The stuff is like honey. Best assembly lube made. Once rebuilt a metro engine using Lucas, fired it up and was trying to set timing. Now normally, metro lifters take a litlle while to pump up. But after 5 minutes of running and tinkering with the timing, mine were still rattling. I looked in the driverside window and my oil presuure light was on! I shut it down and beagn investigating the issue. I had made my own oil pump gasket but had left off the round part off to one side that seals the oil pump to the pick-up so I had run my engine for 5 minutes with no oil! I fixed the gasket, crossed my fingers and fired it up. I now have 140,000 miles on that engine and still going strong. If it can run for 5 minutes with-out seizing, I'd say its the best out there.

I use synthetic gear oil...but I am by no means a mechanic, so it's probably best to use something else :D
