so finally got my vert out of storage on may 4th. i knew last year when i put it away that i needed to put a new head gasket on it. so when i got it out i brought it home and tore into it. i put a new head gasket,T belt and head bolts in it. so i got all the work done set the timing etc. put it together and she fired right up! but when i when to move it from the garage for the first test ride it was bogging until 1500RPM then leveled out like normal. Test drive went good no leaks, holds coolant now etc. drove it for a few days bogging seemed to go away. then i brought it home to belleville from my moms in cobourg (hour or so drive) drove perfect. got to my G/f''s friends parked went in for a bit came back car wouldn't start lights were dim Like it had a dead batt. so i checked the batt connections because maby i forgot to tighten them. nope all was well than lights were fine and it started right up.it did this 2 more times (all i did was wiggle the wires on the connectors) got it home and got the connectors all figured out. now it starts fine but now it hardly will idle have to hold it to the floor and it coughs spits and sputters still it gets to 2000RPM then it's fine.but it's a pain because when i pull up to a stop light as soon as i push the clutch in it stalls but will fire right back up. i haven't had a chance to look at it yet but i'm thinking it's the TPS i just threw it in the garage because im in the middle of moving but when i go to look at it this weekend would like some ideas of where to look/start. thanks Dru |

my first guess is that the mechanical timing is off. make sure that the dots/pointers stay lined up for/after two revolutions of the timing belt by hand. |

i rotated the assembly by hand. and all was still lined up after that. and its weird once i get Moving and the rpm's up it runs like normal. if the timing was off could it still run decent? |

After sitting for the winter you probably need to locate and clean ALL of your grounding points |
