:die Driving home last night a flume of smoke dumped out the tailpipe. Pulled over filled the radiator up, noticed oil in it and limped home. While I'm attacking this issue, I will be replacing the timing belt unless it is brand spanking new, along with anything I notice in the process. But I have a few questions.
1. Is this motor an interference or non interference motor?
2. Any flat rate tricks?
3. Should I be replacing anything else?
4. Is this as straight forward as it seems or no?
Thank you for the help everyone!

1-non interference
2-do the work yourself
3-customary to replace cam and crank seals when doing
the timing belt
4-no
a-make sure the oil restrictor stays in place
b-dont reuse the headbolts
c-only way the washers holding the valve cover in place is to 'unscrew' them.
d-notice that valve cover bolts are torqued in INCH pounds, NOT foot pounds

others will give hints too

Non-interference engine.

Pretty straightforward, just follow this how-to G10 Head Repair Guide

You'll want this gasket. Fel-pro, Evergreen, or any other brand name gasket would be good too. BEST Geo Metro Head Gasket

Also, soak your exhaust manifold bolts in PB Blaster every 12 hours or so for a few days before you start disassembly.

You guys are great thank you. i started to soak bolts last night. I'm a B-tech at a small shop so i have tools and basic knowledge, but I have never worked on Geo's before and Suzuki's G10 seems to be like a 'yoda in that they have their own way of doing things. Any and all advice is greatly appreciate and Thank you all again! :rocker :gp
