See the "Timing Belt How To" in the Guides and How To section. Very similar to the 3 cyl and the water pump will follow.

Remove timing cover and timing belt. The tensioner is on the water pump. If you haven't done the timing belt, this is the time to do it. If any of the timing seals are leaking, replace them now.

Unbolting the water pump is pretty self-explanatory. I have a 3 cyl and the Autozone one cost me $35. This is a good price and it has a lifetime warranty so I doubt it is junk.

I coated the water pump gasket with ultra black RTV and re-assembled. None I have ever done leak (from the gasket) when done this way. We will see how long the AZ one lasts.

Gotcha! It isn't a huge deal to do this repair. You might put a block of wood and a jack under the oil pan and unbolt the mount on the passenger side front. You can raise and lower the engine as needed for the water pump and timing belt job. Either way, plan on a good two hours or so for this job.
