Paid zero for mine (traded a cadillac but have 2500 in parts ready or on their way) Ill hopefully have my metro for 20-30 years. Currently replacing everything on it to make sure. Hope no one hits me. Oh, What a waste that would be.

Come to think of it I currently own 4 different Metro models and paid zero for them......... 1992 Metro XFi "Terra Shuttle" (Gifted to me by GeoStalker) 1991 4 Door Auto "Ecomudder" (Sell one car get parts car no title deal) 1996 Metro 1.0L 5-Speed "Green Machine" (Car was totaled and gifted by member pacopperhead) 1998 Metro 1.3 5-speed "The Magnum Metro" (Car was totaled and labor exchanged) I might not make any money off this site, but I met a lot of people and made lots of friends and I suppose there are a few perks to being a Website Administrator

Claz.org Type in geo metro on the search field and you will get page after page of metros for sale all over the United States. Anywhere from 300 bucks to 3000. I'd say if folks want to get on the band wagon, then there are opportunities available to purchase a metro. Most folks don't want the hastle of having to fix a niggling little thing in order to get great gas mileage. They want an Aveo, Spark, Fit, spend $15K brand new and get about 35mpg. IDK, but I'd rather spend five hundred bucks and throw a couple of hundred on top of that in order to have a driveable metro which will get at least 45mpg. |

We have a dedicated core of people who keep coming back and posting, and then we have random user number 10,003, who joins so they can see what's in the for sale section, and leaves forever. (No offense to user 10,003... )

Well, I'm still here. I rarely drive my Metro except back and forth to work or into town. Come to think of it, that is about all the places I go. Anyway, I jumped on the interstate a few days ago. I was not happy. No power at high speeds, crappy AC, bumpy ride, etc. I can understand why people would be more interested in a car that gets 35 MPG vs one that gets 55 MPG. I don't think I am going to get rid of mine any time soon and will probably dump some money into it very shortly (new tires, new shocks, sound proofing). I will cry when I finally lose her... |

I drive my white xfi(Dog Breath) everyday. To work to town everything. I put sound deadening in it and AC. Now it is cool and quite. I took it on a 16hr drive to southern Idaho and back and drove 75 to 80 most of the way with no problems. I went up grades of around 6 to 7% and just shifted down when I needed to(Passed several honds on inclines) No problems. Geos have been failing for a number of years and people are not reparing them but letting them go to the PnPs. Seems to be a steady stream of parts available. I see alot on the road in my neck of the woods. I see several most everyday. |

I personally love my Metro! Even my wife loves it now too! We have driven from FL to NY twice for about the total cost of having bought 1 round-trip plane ticket. I have no intentions of getting rid of it, ever. Even though I think my days of long distance cruising in the summer with no AC are temporarily on hold now that we have a new baby, I will still continue to use it as my daily driver. Way better mileage than the 11-14ish I get in my truck. When something breaks, I fix it. When I need to rebuild it again in another 15-20 years (hopefully) I will. I am one of the lucky ones though that got a southern car out of GA with no rust and if all goes as planned it'll be getting a paint job this summer to hopefully extend its life a little more. Even though I know it would do fine and be comfortable enough to drive home to NY in the winter I am hesitant to put it in the salt belt until I absolutely have too, i.e. Uncle Sam gives me orders someplace north so I can get out of this heat! (fingers crossed)As for not being as active on the forum as I'd like to, I have a 16 wk old daughter and full home remodel and they both take up a lot of my free time!

Held a memorial celebration at the graveyard today and my daughter rolls up in her 93 Metro with bodykit and Estrella chrome rims. Her cousins encircled the car asking a bunch of questions. Then we all went to a Chinese restaurant and upon leaving, we saw another Geo Metro (same generation) and her cousins remarked "Look....another Geo Metro!" I haven't seen as many on the road though. But when I do, I see them in bunches. |

My tevie1 build should be good for another 15 to 20 years since everything is all new. I wonder what I will be retrofitting metros with in 15 to 20 years? Maybe my screen name will be Nuclearmetro? |
