You are well on the way to getting all of the bugs worked out of your metro. Very good, my friend.

Vacuum lines will only cost ten bucks. As far as the tranny leak, be sure the oil is not coming from the dizzy o-ring. Sometimes when the dizzy leaks, the oil runs down the tranny and drops off the tranny at the mid-line of the tranny, thus you might think the tranny is leaking when in acctuality it is coming out of the motor.

thanks for the heads up dayle i'll keep an eye on that on the next test drive it only seams to leak when i take it out for a bit.
but i gotta get the rpms down so i can take it on a drive over 5 miles i just don't feel good trying to take it on i25 for 20 25 miles to the tranny guy.

i did get stranded once found out the alt belt wasn't tight enough to charge yea that was a rough night getting towed home by a kid in a beefed up 1ton dodge with a 4ft tow rope at night and my windows where still pretty grimmy yea i keep a battery cables a can of gas and a jug of coolant with me now :die

yea pretty bad when I put the old one on the bench and rotated the shaft it sounded like those bead link chains till i got to one spot and a chunk noise and some resistance
It did sound like all kinds of junk swirling around in there when it was running till i put the clutch down. should have seen the golf ball size gunk ball with metal on the plug

as far as i understand yea 3.79 is what it should be i got this weird issue where at 45 or 50 it starts reading 5 to 10 slow on stock tires i suspect the gauge cluster may be messed up.

but it does move well with the tranny it's not to slow on the get up and i had to move only one stud for the shift linkage

That's a great color man I was looking for that or white so I could give it a gelcoat white effect
If i cold repaint it really well at a reasonable cost maybe some kind of gunmetal grey metallic/black or gelcoat white dunno yet was going for a ugly paint car so I wouldn't care about dings/dents but i'm really loving this car.

I was pretty surprised at it's body condition it was buried under a mountain of ice and snow
when I went and got it it took around 30 mins to get enough off to see the car with prairie winds icing our rears off.
well see it's my first blue car
funny thing there's another blue one around my town somewhere some kids are cursing around in.

you guys are making me love the blue the final tack in that was when I put the door trim up to see how it looks and yea that's hot

I just got the belt squeak cleared and it's smoothing out tightened the new 5mm vac hoses with screwclamps yet the idle is still high 1400 sometimes 960 maybe turn the distribitor and dial the timing back?
my odb tester tends to say it's at 20 sometimes at 8 sometimes at 10

what do you guys think?

I would love to find a panaramic sunroof that I could fit to this once everything is running great
I do drool over your twin sun roofs GP

I took it for a spin around the country side for about 15 mins or so and man it's great!
still concerned about that idle though..
current doings.. pulling cloth off seats and tossing them in the wash man there comming out nice I'll have to post pics soon wish I did a before on the back bench bottem it was bad like truck stop crapper bad.

Thanks for this awsome site!
