You might try testing the fuel pressure at the TB, please be careful doing that. Also have you already pulled the fuel filter and tried temporarily bypassing it to see if it runs better? You"re doing great- you'll get it.

ok I bypassed the filter (and I plan on putting it under the hood) and it's acting better but still chokes and sputter on excel, also it chokes at idle but recovers.
I see palm size puddles of water from the exaust going up the driveway where I had to rev it up alittle to get it back into the garage and where I started it.
I belive this all started when I first filled it all the way up a few months back.
my brother suspects fuel pump but lives to far to see it in person, I suspect that and or crap in the tank water/rust.
I don't have the Harbor freight fuel/vac tester to check the psi yet.
Thanks guys for all your help I feel where close!
Can't wait to start playing with paint and speakers also I got a hatch glass with defroster to put in

Got time to test the pump and pull the tank will pull stuff out of the tank soon.
Tank looks good so far took the chance to clean up
when I ran a test gauge with the filter on even around idle it was around 11psi maybe 13
nothing different when just cranking also.
Here and there when I pull lines I get dirty colored gas then it clears up here is the cleaner of the nasty gas
maybe I'll pull the pump and float out tomorrow.

My test rig maybe I used to long hose

gauge reading

NO that's not olive OIL!!! :beer :x
I've seen the gas darker once or twice
Posted Image

Got everything off the tank looks like there is a little rust can't see the inside top but suspect a little more,
cleaned the contacts on the fuel level float, cleaned everything including metal lines may just do a vinegar clean on the tank, not sure if I should still seal it.
may just replace the fuel pump defiantly the filter.

the fuel level unit opened up

closer view of the contacts

little rust on the bottom of the tank
