If you can find the side shelves that help hold up a parcel shelf, they hold speakers... I think the size is 4x6, maybe? I specialize in 95+ cars; I don't have a lot of knowledge of the older stuff. ![]() dover sometimes has the parcel shelf support shelves for sale... http://geometroforum.com/topic/4871033 |

Why does this not fit the 92'? http://www.ebay.com/itm/1993-1994-1995-1996-1997-1998-Geo-Chevy-Metro-Dash-Kit-Stereo-Install-GM-k410-/110992041687 I really don't want the pocket that I have now. Pretty sure I have a Metra kit. Over time it's warped and the blanking plate keeps wanting to pop out. This one above is solid faced - I like that. In other news, putting a bluetooth/CD/USB JVC unit in the wife's PT cruiser in about a week. If I like it, I might upgrade The Bean with BT also (already have USB - what a great invention) edit: NVM, looks like that guy has the listing wrong. It's for a 95+ Metro

Yeah, the mounting tabs are wrong for a 92-94. I might have a spare OEM mounting bracket & pocket I could sell you... ![]() If you might be interested, send me a PM... |

Thanks but does it bolt up a single DIN aftermarket radio easily? I'm toying with the idea of machining one out of aluminum plate. It'll certainly be sturdy |

Yes, an aftermarket single DIN stereo mounts up beautifully. |

Anyone got any suggestions on a, preferably inexpensive, speaker-mounting conversion bracket, that would facilitate installing a set of 5-1/4" speakers in the rear hatch speaker location? I've found plenty of them designed for the larger speaker upgrades, but nothing that segues from a 4" to 5-1/4" speaker size. My apologies to the OP if this type of question is not appropriate, or what was originally intended for the thread. I just thought , since all you knowledgeable audiophiles are, already, corralled in this one place... |

Naw, dude, it's cool. But I don't actually know what would work, honestly. Can you post a pic of the location in question, with the cover off? I'm thinking you might be able to use a 5.25 lift ring, and drill new holes for the mount points? It'd have to be a SKINNY lift ring, though, otherwise it wouldn't fit underneath your cover... |

I did order one but having it shipped to my home as I've had stuff in my cart forever and needed something to put the total over the 'free shipping' minimum. Don't plan on putting in my car though - either the ranch truck or a portable boom box. At this price though I might get another for store pickup. Heck, cannot buy an AM/FM/USB/SD card player from China made this nice for this price and without waiting 2 weeks for it. Will let you know what I think when I get it in my hands. Meanwhile for $15 you might take the chance before they're gone. |

Perhaps "you" in the general sense. Not "you" as in me, because A. I do not have $15 to spare, and B. I must have a CD player incorporated in my stereo. |

Sorry! Probably wasn't on sale last friday. Did buy this for the wife from Fry's BF sale. http://www.frys.com/product/7511396 got it for $79 Installed it in the PT cruiser this past weekend. Still have yet to try the BT out. Surprised to see song information on the display from plain old FM stations! When did they start doing that?! Edited by JellyBeanDriver, Dec 17 2013, 12:51 AM.

I know, right?! I guess that's the "Radio Broadcast Data System (RBDS)" mentioned in the specifications... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radio_Data_System Interesting read...
