First radio I've ever owned with it. Including factory radio. Just tried it on my Sony Xplod from only a couple of years ago and nope. Surprised to see it on this low end head unit. Speaking of low end, here's a couple more deals. I was looking at this unit for the wife's car before I got what I got - no CD though but with BT. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/built-in-bluetooth-apple-174-ipod-174-ready-in-dash-receiver/7767105.p And this unit, no BT but has USB and CD and it's a Pioneer. http://slickdeals.net/f/6564444-pioneer-50w-x-4-mosfet-apple-ipod-ready-car-stereo-in-dash-cd-deck-49-99-free-shipping-or-in-store-pickup? I just bought a double-din 6.2 inch Android, 3G, Bluetooth, WiFi media player with an adapter kit. I may need to source the esteem radio cage, as my metro has NONE. Will report back here when it is installed. |

I might have a spare, but shipping to Canada will suck, even though it's light. Let me know if you will need one from me. Do you have a link, or a model number, or something, for the unit you plan to install? |

Ah, that one. Think I've seen that when casting search terms upon eBay over and over. http://www.ebay.com/itm/390593927732 Do let us know how it works, once you start using it.

...huh. Comparing the size and shape to an OEM one: (Picture stolen from t3ragtop )It looks like they actually ARE probably for 6.5" speakers!

Am I wrong, or are none of those Speaker Harness and Reverse Harness in the OP fit a '91 Geo Prizm ? Also, is there anything more then a Speaker Harness and a Reverse Harness needed to install a Head Unit on a '91 Geo Prizm ? |

Prizm is a Toyota so it is at least reasonably likely it won't work. Go to Crutchfield to see what you need for installation. |

Correct, odds are none of this stuff will work for a Prizm. A Geo Metro is a rebadged Suzuki Swift. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geo_Metro A Geo Prizm is a rebadged Toyota Corolla. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geo_Prizm You should not need a reverse harness - reverse harness is for: When somebody cut the factory harness, and you want to put a factory stereo back in. You need an aftermarket adapter harness. I did a quick search for you. Looks like you need a Metra 70-1761 Harness for the stereo: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_120701761/Metra-70-1761-Receiver-Wiring-Harness.html?tp=2977 and speaker harnesses... Scosche SHTA01B at Crutchfield: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_12071006/Speaker-Wiring-Harnesses.html?tp=3097 You have 4" speakers in the dash and 5" speakers on the rear deck ALTHOUGH - this information is for a 91 Geo Prizm SEDAN - if you have a HATCHBACK there are no rear speakers?? So sayeth Crutchfield. (Metra Online says your rears [if a sedan] are 5.25") Shop around and try to find the parts cheaper if you can - but at least now you have part numbers. If you're not handy with a soldering iron, I also offer stereo harness creation. See my thread here: Wire for Hire; I can wire your stereo harness for you... |
