Am I wrong, or are none of those Speaker Harness and Reverse Harness in the OP fit a '91 Geo Prizm ?

Also, is there anything more then a Speaker Harness and a Reverse Harness needed to install a Head Unit on a '91 Geo Prizm ?
Correct, odds are none of this stuff will work for a Prizm.

A Geo Metro is a rebadged Suzuki Swift. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geo_Metro
A Geo Prizm is a rebadged Toyota Corolla. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geo_Prizm

You should not need a reverse harness - reverse harness is for:
When somebody cut the factory harness, and you want to put a factory stereo back in.
You need an aftermarket adapter harness.

I did a quick search for you.
Looks like you need a Metra 70-1761 Harness for the stereo: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_120701761/Metra-70-1761-Receiver-Wiring-Harness.html?tp=2977
and speaker harnesses... Scosche SHTA01B at Crutchfield: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_12071006/Speaker-Wiring-Harnesses.html?tp=3097

You have 4" speakers in the dash
and 5" speakers on the rear deck
ALTHOUGH - this information is for a 91 Geo Prizm SEDAN - if you have a HATCHBACK there are no rear speakers??
So sayeth Crutchfield.
(Metra Online says your rears [if a sedan] are 5.25")

Shop around and try to find the parts cheaper if you can - but at least now you have part numbers.

If you're not handy with a soldering iron, I also offer stereo harness creation. See my thread here: Wire for Hire; I can wire your stereo harness for you...
Hey thanks man, yeah its a Sedan so looks like I just need the stereo Harness and Speaker Harness. Im gonna read your thread, don't habe a soldering iron its back in NY might have to hire you !

Cool! :thumb
Also, FYI, you only need speaker harnesses, if you are planning to replace your factory speakers, with aftermarket ones.
If you are going to continue to use your stock speakers, you will not need those harnesses.

The Family Man

Just dropping some confirmation information in here. I used the harness adapter to mate my aftermarket unit and it worked fine. I use the Pyle speakers too and they sound better than factory. Nothing crazy, but for $18 a set I can't complain. Also, I used a double DIN receiver with great success.

This was $50 when I bought it, maybe it was used?

Amazing unit. I love mine. Looks very good installed.

Also, not sure if this was included. I glazed over the list and didn't see it. But I needed an antenna adapter for my 2000 Chevy Metro (GM).

Bump, to show an interesting thing I just found on eBay...

Speaker Mount:
92-94: http://www.ebay.com/itm/141214146763
[Metra 82-3410]
According to the listing, this is to mount a 6.5" speaker?
Until it's confirmed, I would assume it's for the stock 4" size; but at least if you don't have speaker mounts, this lets you mount SOMETHING...
...huh.
Comparing the size and shape to an OEM one:

(Picture stolen from t3ragtop :D )
It looks like they actually ARE probably for 6.5" speakers! :O
Updating this...
A while back, I found out that Metra USED to make a bracket that would allow you to put 6.5" speakers in the back of a 92-94 Metro.
Couldn't find a source for them.
...until now.
:O

http://www.tune-town.com/Cars/stuff/Geo/1992-94_Geo_Metro.htm

Scroll down a bit, they're under the "Factory Speakers" section.
The site looks kind of sketchy, but they're legit, I ordered a pair to see if they'd turn up or not and :wtf
Here they are!

(Mind = Blown.)

I want to point out that these are a solid piece of steel. SUPER sturdy.
Made to mount in the factory rear speaker location.
So you can hide your speakers behind the factory grill.
Stealth. B-)

If you're interested, I'd order them now - there's no telling how many they have in stock!
(I mean, you could call them, I suppose. I didn't bother.)

I would say that looks like old stock for sure. When they are gone they are likely gone for good.

Turbo3 and Twincam Tweaker

since you borrowed my pic i feel i can add something to the discussion.

the pic of the rear speaker mounting shows the oem rear speaker mount from my old white gt which came from the factory with 4" speakers, the same as what they used in the dash. i used 5.25" kove compaxial 2 way speakers fitted to the mounts by drilling new holes for the retaining screws.

5.25" speakers fit well. 6" and 6.5" speakers are too large to fit well with that mount.

the addition of the 5.25" speakers does wonders for a midbass boost to the system. they give you just a little more oomph than the usual 4 inch drivers which is a good thing for a simple, head unit powered, 4 speaker system. ;)

You could have added something even if I hadn't used your pic! ;)

But by "that mount", you mean the OEM one, right? The ones I got, for research purposes, are aftermarket, and made to fit a 6.5" speaker.

Yep! That's why anybody that's really interested had better snag 'em right away!

On an aftermarket stereo? That's normal.
Most aftermarket stereos that I have seen control their own brightness with internal settings, they are not controlled by the dimmer knob in the car.

My contribution: Metra 70-1692 1987 - 1988 CHEVROLET SPRINT ER Car Radio Wire Harness

Trying to decide what to do about my 87 Turbo 4x4" OEM radio/speaker system - perhaps the worst 4-speaker system ever sold?

Dash is standard "Metro" 4 inchers. But for kicking rear speakers, they have two 4's in the hatch - they are on a wide but not very tall (~6" max) panel held with plastic push fasteners. Would a pair of 6x9's fit? Don't know yet.

The car is 100% original and I would cringe of drilling a hole in anything.

Anyhow, I'm going to stop here and probably post a thread here and on the "other" site.

Thanks
Tom

Does anyone know if the 4" to 6.5" adapter plates listed above can be used in the rear seat speakers (4") without having to cut or alter the plastics? I just got a very clean 93 with only 78k miles on it and the car has never been hacked or altered in any way- I'm going to keep it that way.

In a 2-door hatchback? Yeah, it's what they're for. Upgrading the size of the speakers in the rear seat, which sit, eh, somewhere around your passengers' knees, without altering the factory plastic side panels in any way.
