I'm pretty sure what the answer is, but need to know for sure for parts gathering purposes. Yes, another question from the backwards guy...

The metal bracketry that the dash mounts to... are they different left side to right? I know there's an upper piece for the instrument cluster, but are the two bottom pieces... are they interchangeable left for right, or different. I have seen many posts of gutted dashes, and can't 100% tell from them.

I'm not sure if the City of LA did things the right way, and swapped in the metal brackets along with the RHD dash, or if they just swapped the dash over. I hope not the cheap route. I won't know until I pull my dash myself, and not ready yet to do so.

Maybe... but I found the link by GeoZone to be a funny distraction! :rofl

I have only pulled the 1996 dash our about 8" or so. I undid 2 bolts in the door hinge area on each side, plus a few more and pulled the dash away from the firewall enough to get the heater out. Glad you got it out. :banana
