I have a 1996 metro lsi with a busted head gasket and the cooling relay is shot. What's a realistic selling price for the car ? 132,000 miles, new spark plugs and wires. No other major problems. |

I'd give you $1000 if the interior was GREAT. Maybe... |

We're looking at the 4-5k range realistically. Seriously though, probably around $1000. |

i sold my 1996 two door stick 1.0 black in color 7 out of 10 condition for 1600 sold in two days. without the AL wheels thanks craigslist![]() the cars in the southwest are rust free and a body in good condition no dents will add value. Edited by socal geo garage, Sep 1 2013, 11:10 PM.

"busted head gasket and cooling relay is shot" could very well mean a warped engine from overheating. $1,000 is only if the entire rest of the car is spotless, immaculate, showroom condition. |

It's not in showroom condition and there is a little rust. Trying $600. |

In our area it's all about the frame horns. I bought a car that was in absolutely immaculate condition with 20K miles on it. The owner had to tow it home because the passenger side frame horn let go. Apparently it had been sitting for a while, rusted out from beneath. Topside, you wouldn't have known. I bought it for $300. I've also had people stop by and ask if I would sell.. so it's a seller's market at this point. There's only like 2 or 3 available at the most on a good day and 2 or 3 of those will have frame horn issues. Today there's two listed in your area, one has a flamer saying $600 is $599.99 too much. LOL If your frame horns are in good shape, that's a big IF, you're probably better off to fix the issues and list it for $1200 and probably get a good offer. That number would keep the tire kickers away hopefully and anyone looking at it, knowing that asking price, is at least serious about buying it. You'll get people questioning the price but if your frame horns are good, it's worth it around here. Maybe even more especially once gas prices hike again, plus you've got a higher population there so more chances to sell. Of course in that case (gas price hike), if you can park near a gas station, put a big 45 MPG sign on it and ask for BO you can probably get close to $2K. |

Well I never did write back but I sold the old '96 Geo Metro for $300 and bought my 1991 Geo Prizm with 103,000 miles for $625. Not a bad deal. |
