the kit for the samurai is set up for a v type belt. the kit for the tracker is set up for the flat ribbed belt. the suzuki g family engines all share the same basic blueprint, oil and water pumps, bolt patterns, etc. that makes it convenient to share parts between the g10 and g13 engines. |

Another idiotic question that I have. I have the kit for the cs130 swap but I was wondering if going to the bigger alternator would affect my mpg in a negative way..my car is automatic if that matters. So far the only add on item I have is a 500w alpine amp. I don't get any dim lights etc..prolly due to my optima battery. but I was going to add lights with relays and a few other items in the future. however if going to the cs130 would drop my mpg I don't think ill do it. thoughts? |

i have 3 cars currently running the cs130 mod. once you do the conversion a new alternator with a lifetime warranty is $69. the 105 amp alternator recovers battery charge after starting much faster and if you run brighter lights and big stereo systems it's the only way to fly.

The size of your alternator will have little effect on you mpg. The load that your alternator handles is what will effect your mpg. If you install rows of huge amps, it will decrease your mpg. |

The question that has come up in looking for an alternator to try is specifically what years and type of cars do you look for to get this alternator. I have looked at many in the j/y and they all seem to have the mounting points clocked wrong to put on our cars. |

The 110Amp CS 130 from my 1993 oldsmobile cutlass is the correct one, you need an alt from a mid 90's buick or oldsmobile with the LG7 engine (3100, 3300 and the 3800) |

So for a 91 metro would I need the flat belt or the v belt alternator? I run lots of audio and my car hates it. My rpm's drop when I have my fog lights, headlights and stereo on:) lol |
