Believe it or not, I may have tracked down the issue here.. Who all here has a grill block of some sort, AND has TPS\ISC issues?? I started my car today, it idled perfect 1200 rpms. After driving about 10 miles all of a sudden it would stall after about 10 seconds of trying to idle at like 200 rpms. I let the engine cool completely, next time I started it it idled perfect again.. So I removed my grill block and drove probably another 20 miles, not once has the idle messed up again. SO, if your having idle issues make sure your idle screw is set correctly, ISC is functioning and TPS is set correctly. Then, if you still have issue REMOVE the ENTIRE grill block. If your issue goes away, your issue is heat! When I turn my car off the radiator no longer gurgles at me (it was rare but did happen) and the idle is working fine hot and cold every time. |

compjake, re post #16 Was your temp gauge telling you that you were running hot before you removed the grill block? Edited by Lazy Bandit, Oct 25 2013, 10:24 PM.

i tuned up my idle again last night. here is the tip, i had adjusted my idle speed never goes below 800rpm which causes engine vibration and loss of a high charging voltage. run the car up to normal temp. run highbeams, and then turn them off. idle speed should go up when on and then down when off. usually what happened to me is turning them off the idle speed control would over compensate bring to 650 for a second then back to 750. also after cruising on the highway and then coming to a dead stop in neutral, the idle speed would get below 650rpm. so as you're using the highbeams as an idle-up switch keep adjusting your throttle plate screw until you can find where the engine will not idle at a speed lower than it should be. |

well first of all you need to go into your control panel here http://geometroforum.com/home/?c=6 and put information in your 'year/make/model' without it, no one knows what car you are talking about. if you notice, we have different engines. so adjusting the idle will be different. |
