those cuts spiral inward as the axle turns to force any transmission oil away from the seal. it's supposed to help keep them from leaking.
Well I replaced the seals it still leaked so now I replace the axels hope they don't leak. I'm sick of oil leaks, the axels are the only leaking part on the car. Hope the new ones solve that

CB asked---What if you drive backwards? lol

If you are sick of oil leaks it is designed so that if you drive backwards it leaks a little just to remind you what it is like to have an oil leak.

I am fixing my GT seats, I am starting with the smallest rip, did some contact cement and seat foam to fill the void, then I'm using a hook nettle and apholstery thread with a slip stitch to hold this seam together. Keep posted lot of pics to come as more tips get repaired

The most sexy stitches I've ever done, these are literally perfect. I did a good job!

The seat foam is rebuilt, tape, contact cement, and seat foam building all make it stronger. Now time to stitch it all up

The stitches are great the foam under is holding good, I also used duct tape to help hold it all I. Place under the fabric. I have more plans to fill the gap on the arm part. My fingers are sore for now tho.

Lookin' good! I didn't realize the seat had the damage, and how much. I guess the reason for the cheap covers. Can't wait to see how they feel on a certain drive northward. ^o)

After hearing you and I would possibly be going north I wanted good seats so that was my modivator, but Glenn has offered other options. We shall see how this all plans out.

After all the seat fabric is stitched up, an iron on patch will go over the damaged spot.

Even tho the other side of the seat of fine it will get an iorn on patch so both seats match. I'll be using a nice stitch and black thread to sew down the edges of the patch and make this a permanent, strong fix.

Good thing my grandma showed me how to sew stuff many years ago, I would never be able to fix this seat without that skill, just use a crappy seat cover if I didn't know how to fix this.

Iron on some duct tape for the extra sticky glue and the fabric weave.

Iron on this patch, now I will do a slip stitch all the way around the edge to hold it real tight, then all the arm parts get the exact same patch for the uniform look.
