Looks like the rust has continued on the other side as well. I'm not putting fresh pimpin carpet and pads in here for it to get wet again. Going to fix both sides of rust....now to try this "bondo" stuff again.....

I have not been inside the quarter panels of an early body Metro yet, but I know on the 95+ body style that there is a fair amount of room inside the quarter panels. I have run Jl Audio 1001 amps in both quarter panels of my 96, as well as some smaller amps that were sharing that same space. Instead of mounting them vertically, I tilted the tops of them out a little to allow the bottom of the upper amp to rest behind the back of the lower one. Lots of custom made brackets for that one, and a custom super short flat blade screwdriver to adjust the gains. It sure is nice to see you doing what can't be done... Can't wait to see how it turns out!

With like 14 or so speakers in his car, I'm sure the quarters are already full.

That means a lot thanks. I would use my rear quarters but there already full of amps....and the space behind the tail lights is full of speakers....and the driver side panel rear, has my power block in it, I don't run grounds I run straight off this block. And use super fatty wires. So I've called around found my juke padding for 3.50$ a yard and I'll go pick that up tomorrow recycle my cans and then go wash my GT seats and carpet for the car.

I'm picking up a kiddie pool so I can dye the carpet too...mom said no more car parts in the house :lol

Today, the list to do that's super important to get started-

Get the carpet washed so it can soak in the dye bath

Get the seats washed so they can fully dry out-

The seats will also get a charcoal brush texture spot dye to improve the color of them-

The holes in the car need to be patched up so that includes spray rubber paint bondo and rust locker.

Need to go buy the carpet padding-

And gf wants to go out today-

Probably should recycle cans while I'm out with all this stuff

Yea busy day

Kiddie pool full of- 2 bottles of liquid dye, 1 packet of powered dye, 1/2 gallon of vinegar, 6 over mounded cups of desolved rock salt, and about half cup of actitone. If it ruins the carpet oh well.

Ok so, rust is repaired (best I can) then I masked off all the holes for the side bar things and filled them to the brim with expanding foam. Some will say it will rust my car out, I don't even care any more I'm going for ultimate sound deading. I will also be filling the pillars for the window. I picked up some carpet juke and I'm going to double it. Add under the wheel wells and pack that car with sound dead any where I can. It has a ton in it already but I'm going over board with no care how heavy it gets. (Wish I could afford that dyna mat)
