I have an spl system in my pickup. For the roof, I cut 1/4" mdf into 4" wide strips, and glued them to my roof going crosswise. The strips approach allows them to form to the shape of the roof. I repeated this but ran the second layer lengthwise. Then a third and final layer going crosswise again. The end result is a 3/4" layer of mdf bonded to the roof. Feels like a brick wall when you hit it with your fist. I also took out the rear side glass from the extended cab portion of the truck, and replaced the rubber molding with winshied urethane. While it was still wet I re installed the side glass and latched the little pop out mechanism. After it dried, I removed the latch. Rock solid. You can save a lot on dynamat doing stuff like this.

If you brace your roof, you may want to round up a bunch of prop rods to hold the strips in place while they dry. I have two of the extendable hood prop rods in my tool box, but I borrowed a bunch from other techs in the shop I worked in. That brace got me a few db increase. If you ever go to an spl drag, you can see lots of peoples roofs flexing and lowering their spl numbers

Filled the rail part with foam expand. Also the outside rail too, I poked where the pins hold for the door trim. Filled that rail up also.

Fixed the floor rust by wire wheeling all te rust away, using rust lock on any parts that needed it, then it mixed up bondo and smithered that all over filling the holes, then to top that off I used some spray rubber stuff on all the clean metal and bondo.

I also bondo the underside and rubber sprayed that too.

The rubber thing that plugs the hole is rotted to death so I goobed it with glue sprayed it with rubber sealant then flattened a Walmart bag over it then sprayed it again....no more water getting in this car. (Couldn't of been from me driving through a river)

While the glue sets up and the rubber drys I am going to eat this pulled roast need sandwich on home made pepper dinner rolls, a few dots of hot wing Tabasco and some olive oil mayo.

Headliner removed, going to do wood strips like ev said then I'm going to do a layer of juke pad then a layer of tin bubble foil heat shield. Every joint will be filled with great expansion foam as well. Can some one say 500$ Bentley?

These beams will be glued in place with some construction adhesive and held up by some bars that extend from the floor. While that is setting up I'm masking off all the holes and stuffing news paper in places I don't want expand O foam to go.

My gf suggested use the razor rails to hold up the wood so that's what I've done, then used some scrap fabric to tighten up the wood to the roof.

Soon as this stuff dries I'll be able to pull the razor rails off and put more stuff up on the ceiling like rubber spray, foil bubble tin heat stuff. Juke backing and the headliner.

Taped up and used an entire can of big gap filler in the door pillars and window pillars plus used some in the roof gaps. That thing is packed full of seal foam
