I never took pics when this truck was built, but here is a pic of what you see under the dome light![]() and the rear dome light ![]() Another big gain I got was this big ass bolt in my port. There is a big nut welded to the back of the truck, and this bolt locks my box to the truck right in the spot that the back of my truck flexed the most. Excuse all the dust back there on all my subs and box... I have not done spring cleaning back there in a long time. I have JL 1000/1 amps on each of the four 10w7s, so it knocks pretty good. Bracing was a must. ![]() Here is what a hood prop rod looks like. It telescopes and locks right where you leave it, so I just put the bottom of a bunch of these onto my seats and floor, and then pushed up on the rod locking the top into the wood strips to hold them snug to the roof while the glue dried.

jato, i feel very strongly about expanding foam. filling the rockers with that guarantees one thing - you will never be able to correctly repair rust by welding in new steel. the gas that's generated when the foam laying against the steel is heated white hot by welding gives off toxic fumes. and by toxic i mean if you weld on that car now it may very well kill you if you breathe the fumes. |

Well....good thing I dot know how to weld. Also I am no where close to your skill of being able to "remake body panels" I'd probably just cut them all off and stand back then say....looks like post apacolypse zombie doom car. Also I am I'm Arizona so I should be ok. Honestly tho if I knew as much as you did on these cars id probably have fixed all the holes with welding and then whatever you do. I just went spray crazy with rubber stuff

Ev, I didn't have the proper materials glue wood and tools to hold it all up. But you have me great idea and what little wood I did stick on the roof makes it solid, now a milk jug won't fold the roof down. So, I used what I had and the thin wood was stuck up with tons of contact cement. Since all my glue was dried up. |

how much weight do you think you have added to the car? mass is a good thing for sound proofing and building a stereo project car. i was just wondering about how much weight you have in the wood and carpet padding. i'll bet that stepping into the car with all that padding is like stepping onto a giant cotton ball. ![]() do the amps still fit under the seats with the floor padding? do you still have room under the seats for the cam that operates the rail sliders to work? |

X, you make me want to do an audio metro.. I want a 5000 one with a wall behind the front seats. It's probably good that I am too busy with the conversions, but at least I can watch your build. |

I'm glad you ask because in all the parts I've put into the car for wire battery wood speakers amps padding extra junk that's not needed. I bet I'm up to 6 or 900 pounds more than a stock metro of the same trim level. Funny tho I drive it like it's been stolen and still get 40-42 mpg. I do know this is a fact, the car handles much better with a massive speaker box in the trunk than without idk if it's the added pounds that change the geometry or if the box is the balance? No idea, brakes are not as good acceleration not as good but it turns better.

better step up my game so I don't look like a total noob. I don't know what my car is, it to me is a do all car, I am replacing the amps to under the seats for better usage of a small space because I love camping and if I manage my space smart I can take all my luxury crap with me. The old amp set up made useless space waste on the back of the seat, and people had a hard time sitting back there. Old sub box was amazing but took all my rear hatch space, now I can put all my camp stuff in the back and the amps are not in the way. And I can still take my system. I camp super light....

![]() Stock roof pad back in, now headliner and no one will ever know that I added so much in the roof. I think I want to conduct a test if any one has an iPhone I want to try a test some day. Any way my carpet is dyed and looks good it should dry out soon ready for install. |

![]() Hard to tell what's going on here- this is looking at the lever you pull to move the seat forward and backward. This amp will fit just perfect and have clearance for my fans, but just. ![]() Looking at the other side of the amp (cut off end) perfect fit. This is all a rough fit more to come. |
