I messed up a bit and glued a pice on for two rights not a right and a left. This is becoming the cleanest amp install ever! Pics soon as the glue dries.....

![]() Here is the other side. Both of these need a little bit of final fitting. The seat has a bolt on the underside that bumps the amp and the other seat the cam for the lever scrapes it as it passes. Minor mishaps I'll have it all fixed up later. |

This project kinda failed because the seats would not go in correctly. The bolt holes would not line up with the rails on the seats. Not just a little off but inches off, the most frustrating thing ever. Then I forgot the passenger seat is different that the driver side, I built it to fit and everything fit fine until this stupid spring and cable thing under the passenger side. . So guess that's it for the project, slam these bent up seats in and be done with it. |

![]() ![]() This is what the carpet looks like and seats. The carpet matches the seats fantastic, the seats are a faded gray and the carpet did not turn black so the faded gray and the gray carpet are a perfect match. |

Looks good, Jato. Now, let us know how it sounds. It would be great if you could get your hands on a decibel meter, and let us know what the level is, when driving at hwy speeds with the windows up and the radio off. It's bound to be a huge improvement. If so, all that time and effort you put into it, is sure to be a *cough* sound investment. I've still got the carpet stripped out of mine, while I'm working on (trying to find the time to) apply the peel 'n seal, and then reinstall the carpet with the thick foam carpet padding. I've seen others that only apply the carpet padding to the flats of the floorpan, without covering up the sides of the rockers and all of the hump area. I'm planning on doing like you did, and cover everything up. I care more about sound reduction than, extra poofy, puckered carpeting. Edited by PTA2PTB, Jan 18 2014, 04:41 PM.

I put a layer of peel and seal down. Then I cut the 1/2 inch wool carpet pad in strips 2 inches narrower than the peel and seal and put that down(pushed tight side by side) The put a layer of peel and seal down cross wise of the pad/seal layer then put the carpet down With that done and a Neon center console installed I had a hell of a time putting the seats in. Ended up getting two ratcheting hold down straps and putting them around the seats pulling them together. With the weight of another person sitting in the seat I managed to get the bolts started and the seats bolted in. |

That's good to know, and something for me to consider, as I have a Neon console that is eventually slated for install. I tried mocking it up a couple weeks ago, but just couldn't come up with a pleasing fitment. I really want to keep (be able to use) the cupholders, and, if I can get it mounted as rearward as I'd like, be able to make use of the "sunglasses holder", too. Also, as I think Nery's once pointed out, I don't want the front edge of the console crowding my right foot when I'm on the accelerator. Since I'm not planning on ever porting rear seat passengers, I'm going to slam the back of the console all the way to the back of the tunnel hump, so it rests up against the rear seat. But to do it, I'll likely need to engage the services of Dan'O, to have him custom modify my shifter so it pulls back about an inch, and over to the right, a smidge. From my calculations/guesstimation, I should still be able to hit all the gears without hitting the sides of the console shifter hole cutout. I'm not even planning on putting the front passenger seat back in, so If I can squeeze the console just enough to get the driver's seat in, I'm golden. That'll likely push the passenger side of it 2" beyond where you'd want it if you were putting the passenger seat back in, but my non-passengers aren't likely to complain. |

Ok so I have an idea for a good controlled test, best control I can get. I will need some one with an iPhone 4S and a free app that is a sound decibel reader. I will conduct my test later and see what or how it works out. I was thinking 65mph clutch in and coasting windows up all radio things off. And if some one with a stock metro would do the same test same app same speed then that should give me a good idea right? |

What's the "free app"? I have an iPhone 4. I could do a test on mine, as it is right now, with the interior gutted, and then after I've put the carpet back in with the peel 'n seel and foam carpet padding. Of course, that won't really tell me a whole lot, as, even with just putting the carpet and the rest of interior back in it with no sound deadening, would be a vast improvement over what it is right now. I took it for a 180 mile jaunt on the highway on Monday, and the sound was near deafening. I was hoping to drown it out by the recent addition of a pair new 4" Pioneer speakers in the dash, to go with the Polks I put in the rear hatch a while back, but the road and engine noise pretty much obliterated any stereo fidelity. About the only benefit to it was that it was a melodic noise, rather than a grating one. Can't wait to get the carpet put back in and see how it sounds. |

So on my drive to my gf house the sound system in the car is so tight when the bass hits it's like some one dropped a 10 ton brick to the earth clean sharp responsive bass. Also the drive at 45-50 mph windows up sounds off I can literally not hear a single thing, the front widow is quiet the floor is solid no more rattles the roof is tight. I highly recomend what I did to any one with a few bucks to blow and some time. Total cost was 25$ for the juke 10$ for the great stuff large gap filler, 9$ for the can of rubber sealant that has left overs, and a few bucks for the foil bubble stuff. Over all major reduction in sound. |

Sounds like you achieved great results. It would be hard for me to judge the difference, having only ridden in your car when it was missing the front bumper and fender, which added to the stock road noise, lol. |

Yea that front bumper missing and fender made a big difference. I think my next step will be to buy some tar roll sticky roof stuff and stick it in my fenders. Take them off and lay them with roofing. Also fill the voids in the body rails under the fenders. |

I still love this 6x9 enclosure mod you did. Hoping to help ya again in the future in exchange for a copy. We'll see if you end up having to modify it for use with the Neon console, as I have one waiting to be installed soon too.
