Not that it's of much interest but- I tore off the strips of crust under the rear wing windows and scraped them of crust then painted them with the rubberized spray stuff. ![]() Did some for my dad too. ![]() So peel them off and clean all the gross adhesive off. ![]() (Had to move to shade way to hot) re install the fresh trims with ultra out door foam tape adhesive (rated 22lbs per inch) and simply stick them back on. |

![]() So I was under my car measuring a sway bar and saw this...gas seeping from the weld on the inlet, I poked it with my finger and it was soft so that means it's time to replace. ![]() So since I refuse to let Gary's old car go to scrap heap and go to waste I been saving parts for things like this, here is the tank out of the 1994 right hand drive metro. And Gary took good care of this car because the gas tank is clean no scratches and no DENTS. My tank is full of dents scratches and now rust. Glad this fix will be a good one, some scrub fresh paint and re coat of armor then in it goes. |

![]() After the paint dried really good I decided to try an experament. I'm using Henry brand roofing tar/sealant stuff. Can claims it sticks to metal plastic mason work cement blah blah blah. So I slobber some on the exterior of this gas tank for protection against road chemical rocks dirt and I hope it will have a more solid feel and be more quiet I have no idea but we shall see. |

![]() With the rust sanded out I treated the rust with some rust lock and let it cure over night, I applied paint to the cured rust spots now time for Henry roof sealant all under the car, hope it reduces sound vibration road noise and prevents further damage to the under body. |

![]() Since the old bolts were broken, I drilled out some new holes, painted the metal then put stainless hardware in place. The tank was sticky still and that tar is a mess so I took a trash bag stuck to it so I could touch the tank and not make a mess. The body is tar coated the tank is tar coated and all bare metal is painted (yellow) |

every one is going to think you are leaking oil when the temp goes to 120 in AZ and your tar starts dripping off. |

Shouldn't drip off, the stuff cures in like 7 days or something. If I remember it turns to like a hard coating, if it drips off in the hot summer I will probably have to either let it all drip off or scrape it off, this stuff makes a mess and requires clean up imidiatly or you find it everywhere. |

Oh you may be looking at the (drippy) looking stuff, that's the trash bag I ripped off the tank some pices were really stuck on so I left them to dry rot off. |

![]() Had an old Honda accord seat foam laying around so I cut it up to be the shape of the rear well part of the car and stuffed it in the blank space in the back. ![]() I have had this mounted here for quite a long time but the holes and brackets had become stripped and worn, so new brackets mounted up ready for many more songs. |

![]() So I've got the crazy bug, for all sake of MPGs with alternator delete water pump delete engine delete BS I've decided to gain my extra 0.000001%mpg back and delete 1 entire inch of wheel of my spare tire. Yes folks I've decided to now haul around a 12" spare. Should make my mpg go from 40 to 40 |

i advise caution here with your application of insulation. at the very rear of the body tub, behind the rear wheel houses, there are vents that provide "flow through" ventilation for the cabin. blocking air flow there might be enough to cause that amp to go into thermal runaway and blow up.

![]() Here are a few items I haul in my spare tire well. Some rope, cable ties, gas cap, hose clamp, few extra hoses for fuel and stuff, gloves, rags, WD, and jack/lug nut tool. Never needed these things but some day I might. Gloves came in handy when I drove on a flat tire one time and the rim and rubber were hot so I used gloves to change the tire. |
