You and your sandwiches, lol. Can't wait to see all the goods on the car. Had fun that day pulling all the parts.

For those who may not know, this bracket must be removed to accept the GTi bumper.

Also the bolts will break so have some new ones handy....

Don't know why, but I kinda dig the look of this, it's like an early 80s Toyota cup car or possibly some sort of go-kart with a window. I like this look ha ha

If I were to build a fun desert road car, I would put 13" wheels 4:39 transmission raise the front suspension no hood no feders no front bumper, but is make a grill plate skid bumper thing that wrapped under and protected the radiator from bush. Possibly even run 2 radiators so it can be driven in 120° weather. Gota stop dreaming of a desert road car and finish my street car lol

Don't know if this will work.

What I did was drill holes through the upper lip mount and the bottom bumper, my hope is that it helps the sag and helps keep the bumper "solid" the zip ties will tie it together and be out of the sun so they should last quite a while.

at first when I looked at the picture- I was thinking WTF am I looking at- then with your explanation, it made sense.
Let us know how long this lasts.
Dinkys front lower bumper was zip tied to the upper bumper when I got it.
I don't know how long the previous owner ran it that way.

Glad it makes sence, that's why I tried to take a pic of the bumper and then a close up.

Fog lamp housing got a dusting of flat black for the "blended flush" look. I don't like looking into the cracks and seeing other colors, I like the black on black.

With the car have been crashed at some point in its life it has had this alignment issue I've tried to correct but things just never have lined up correct on this side of the car. Take note the hood is gapped te fender where the marker is crinkled a bit the bumper won't go on right....kinda frustrating dealing with pices that are slightly off

So I didn't want to mess with the foam bumper thing I decided to work on my side skirt.

The side skirt is held on my a series of push snaps on the bottom and 2 screwes on the front as well as a clip (see pic) I had to remove the body trim held on my adhesive tape, I used a soft plastic scraper and gel goo be gone then did fine scrapping with a surface mated metal scraper, finished off with pine clean to remove residue and grease.

As in you forgot the styrofoam piece before install, or at the u-pull-it yard? I know I put it with the bumper into the goodie pile. Do you still need the metal underneath metal mount still, or did you get it to finally work since your text? Looking good.

Here's the fender fasteners that you need and the part number to order from Suzuki. Need 6ea. Then screws in the wheelwell openings and underneath the rockers.

See page 54 of my Project thread for tips on how I did the holes and mounted mine.
