ZXT, I really like how devoted you are with this ride and I love the "built not bought" in your thread title. Sometimes at the end of the day, I get on GMF to get a "fix" of Metro love, and you are always there with an update. T3 is pretty good with this too, but you are probably the most active. I wish you were from Sacramento...

thank you, it means a lot to me when builders i look up to read what i do. i try as hard as i can to make things great without spending a fortune. i do research on parts i read GMF i try to educate myself before asking questions. honestly i hope to be as skilled one day as some of the builders on here. you EV conversions are amazing T3 answers all my questions with great explanation, links and details. old man tells me stories in PM of a time of old. you are all fantastic on this site and i am glad JM keeps this going. makes me feel good when you all leave kind words for me. as an under appreciated minimum wage retail pee on its hard to keep from going insane so to keep myself occupied i work on my car even if its little stuff it makes me happy. a 3$ can of paint entertained me and gave me something to do. i had a coupon so i bought a harbor china tire changer for 30$ to mount my own tires is 10$ saved every time i do it.

thanks guys for helping me keep up, can be discouraging in life some times.

To bad, this car had AC no rust. Didn't shift out of park and was all mangled, got a rope on it fixed it all up patched the broken lights fixed the fan and he's on his way. No injuries just a metro that will see it's days soon.

Yea, he's doin ok tho no major injuries he said he was sore. Basically what happened was a chain pile up on the free way and he was the last car. Luckily he'd slowed down to around 20 or so. I got the car all patched up drives shifts lights work. He can continue daily normal now, Arizona is a huge place and no car is like having no legs and no wheel chair.

This is my favorite tool for getting down Into the rim, it's a wire wheel thing but it's a stud instead of the wheel or drum. Got it at china break in a sort ment pack for 99ยข

I've always had a sneaking suspicion about this kind of thing. My Metro has been hit in the back at least 3 separate times, It's almost like they're drawn to the same spot.

So today I cut 3/4 of a coil off the 95 year springs. That makes 1-3/4 could cut off those things I hope it is low enough. Buddy bronco was saying that 95 springs are stiffer so I thought I'd give them a try, they are super tall so I cut them once didn't like it and now I've cut more so I am about to go drive the car see how it feels. With the front all lifted up the alignment was off and shifting the car would do weird things.

Here is the first time cut.

And the second cut, yea it was a pain in the butt to take it back apart and all that but I think it's perfect now, not slammed but not off road status

Thought I would try the harbor china polisher kit I love so much on my mirror plastic. I'd say it worked great, my mirror is shiny and rich black again
