![]() If any one has taken out the MK2 dash these must be the hardest part, so I replaced those stupid Phillips head bolts with 8mm socket bolts and washers. These are the behind the stereo bolts. ![]() The driver side and..... ![]() The passenger side body molds door hanger supports were taped off and filled with great stuff expanding foam big fill. The passenger side was also insulated around the wheel well. Driver side has to many wires to get foam under there. And the computer is in the way. ![]() While at the junk yard I picked up a fantastic fan speed selector so since the plastic is all broken around it, fresh grease on the ball and spring inside and some zip ties to hold it in place. |

![]() So where the dash rides on the body of the car I used 3M double side foam tape to secure the joint from rattles. ![]() So see the empty void above the evaporator box? Those are getting filled with some foam I cut and rolled up. ![]() Like so, I'll fill as many voids as I can with foam ![]() Then I got hungry, got a LT sandwich and some pasta salad, blak beans corn carrots from the garden peppers from the garden pickled fixed cucumber fresh crack pepper from the garden seasoned lemon soy beans and other things nom nom nom

geos are the ultimate budget build. All the foam I used was from a Cali king mattress I cut and salvaged layers of nice foam and fabric. I did buy some weather stripping that was 4$ tin insulation 18$ for huge roll spray foam found in the trash and cleaned the tip, tape was 8$ but I use tape for lots of stuff. Most my builds are super recycled crap modded and junked together. But yea a place to work on things is nice, way to hot to not have a garage around here, and my entire yard is dirt/rocks/stickers/ants/cacti(s)

Funny that he says that in this thread. If a grill block/ airdam gets you death, what kind of horrible torture would 8 (or is it 12) wheels with tires mounted, a hood, 2 gt seats, several boxes of parts, I think there is an engine in there somewhere, and etc get you? |

That's the difference between a "wife" and a "girl friend"--Girl Friend is hoping to be in power and Wife is in Power. |

![]() In my quest to make the geo feel solid and rattle free, there are many places I've used 2 side foam tape. Here is one example, the metal mount will rattle against the metal clips that hold the plastic. ![]() Deck mount installed nice and seamless. One day I would like a double din sat nav LCD display with all the bells and whistles. One day... ![]() Since these amp plugs are hard to get at and the wires are short, I've tied a string and fed it through the console so I can tug the string and bring the leads closer to the plugs. ![]() Like so, see the string. I found it just laying on the floor ![]() |
