You need to let that camdhaft breath! You need headers and exhaust work.
It's got to be a flow issue. I put the stock intake on te car for the AC and I swear that made things bad. But the stock components should perform just fine. I'll have to do some tests to see if I did something wrong or if it's a component I put in. I've done so much work in the last 2 weeks it hard for me to back track and say "did this change it?" Because I've changed so many parts. Stock air box, AC and it's wires and drag, cam, head, exhaust has a dent in it. Car felt pretty dang fast before I screwed with it....now it feels slow and awfull. I lost all the work i did practacly.

You can always try to remove the AC belt and determine whether that's the issue.

I personally don't use AC so I just removed the belt for my other cars.
:lol move to Arizona, bet it would change your mind. Sure is a nice luxury. I know it's a power hog but something feels off about the entire car.

Check timing again make sure it did not jump a tooth again.

New belt man. You know what it almost feels like a clogged filter or the brakes are on. That's what it feels like. I know these are not the issue but that's the only way I can discribe this

Going to do some tests today.

Take belt off and see if that is the cause of my heavy engine load.

Take the pump belt off and check for frozen parts.

Check brakes maybe one is holding up?

Take off air filter and see if it spools faster or not (in the shop)

Change oil been 3K already. Going to do thicker oil to help protect the engine with its new found heat. AC causes lots of heat, it stays in temp range but it sure is hot.

Forgot His Manpurse

Good plan.

The 3K oil should NOT cause anything like that.

i remember seeing the post from the guy who replaced the pulley bearing for the ac tensioner. it seems to me that it would be a better idea to just buy a new pulley and shield washer from suzuki. ;)

reading what you wrote about returning to the stock air filter is enough to know you went backwards. go for the shortest, straightest line for air flow into the throat of the throttle body. don't worry too much about air temperature under the hood, as long as the car is moving the nominal temp of the air under the hood will be very close to ambient as long as you don't block up the nose of the car. the car is designed to completely recirculate the engine bay's air continuously as long as the car is moving forward.

sitting, especially in direct sun, is a little different situation. heat soak and rising engine bay temps is when you hear the radiator fan kick on.

the addition of air conditioning to your car increased the parasitic drag on the engine's crankshaft. bad tensioner bearings will definitely make that a problem. the compressor should cycle on and off and reduce drag on the engine when the coolant reaches a certain temp, the heat exchangers ice up, or you stomp the gas pedal (there's a switch on the throttle that interrupts the compressor and there's an electric clutch under the compressor's pulley that disengages the drive.)

Yea I know it wot cause problems. But I am going to use thicker oil 10-40 because I spend lots and lots of time out driving, hard engine abuse. Any way, got oils filter new dryer for the AC and...yea lets do this.

Yea heat soak is massive. Hot road, stop and go traffic, black hood, AC, alternator pushing hard already.

I try and explain. If I am at idle NO AC I can mash the gas full to floor in neutral and the rpm drops, makes a buhhhhhhghghhghghgffff sound and then peaks up and revs high and fast....used to be touch the gas in neutral and bounce the red line in 1 second.

Now same situation AC on, floor it car Boggs bughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh for 5 seconds nearly dies and then revvs.

Ok so here is my conclusion. I been playing with the time belt and various things. The parasitic drag of the alt belt has been reduced I loosened the belt just a hair. The AC belt ha been loosened and it's finger tight on the tension set. The tension pulley is nice and free, some of the grease had slung out so I wiped it up.

Here is the deal. I'm highly disappointed with SRD under drive pulley. The product is fine the craftsmanship is worse than harbor freight. The time mark is off by like 18-20° what is up with that crap. Not only did I order a 4 rib by 4 rib AC 4 bolt pattern then sent me a 3 by 4 AC with 4 bolts...ok whatever fine. The thing did not fit the key way ok a little file it out not to big of a deal...but now the timing mark is off by a lot....ugh if any one wants to buy an SRD pulley DONT. buy a 3 tec turbine tec whatever one. My 3 tec head was fantastically crafted and cared for clear to my door. My turbine under body brace was amazing the aluminum was de-burred and nice to touch and fit like a glove (cept my frame was bent) SRD I won't buy any thing from you again. The china copy crap is better.....so basically my engine is all poop because the time is off by so much. I'm out to change my dryer now. Fill my AC again and see what goes on from there.

Not much to post up here but- here is my old dryer and new one. Got the AC temp down to 37° at the vents at idle, set at idle 1100rpm :cold that was on low first click of the fan speed (im afraid it will die if I push it) this was a test at 82°F ambient air temp.

Now about the heavy drag feeling. It was totally the stupid STD pulley I bought. I would have rather not had a mark at all on it. Any way....

So I took the spark plug out and shined a light down in and watched the piston till it reached the top and wanted to cam back down TDC. Ok now I checked the STdoofus and it was off. Alright so I set the marks given to me on my sprocket by 3 tech and fired up the car, idles the same but step on the gas and look out. So I assumed it was all good. Got it all back together and took it for a ride, oh man that car wants to runnnnnnnn. So I kicked on the AC and blasted it....umm is it on??? Sounds like it's on and it's blowing cold air....no real power change...COOL!!! Ok so now I can run AC all I want and it has little effect on the car. When the time was off it was so stupid to turn the AC off drive up to speed and turn it back on. Now I can sit back relax enjoy my cold air quiet ride and still have plenty of power for those times. Thanks suzuki retard development for a :shit part. But I do love the under drive those that want one...try it they are fun. Just no stupid retard developed ones.
