So when I would drive if I was not carefull the car would start to do this weird hiccup thing, especially if I ran over 4000rpm or I pushed the gas too hard. After replacing o2 thing, got another code on the engine for faulty ignition stuff, so I replaced cap rotor wires and the coil. That was not cheap. So I drove from page az to my place bout 200 miles and the car ran good as long as I didn't get push the gas to hard >50% was safe zone. So I checked my engine codes again tonight and the codes said no faults, normal. That's good I guess but now what do I do? So I pulled the plugs to find out that this plug is missing a ton of its spark zone, it's all blown away, great so wtf caused this to happen? Was it because I used champion 99ยข plugs? Was it because the car was so messed up before my trip I destroyed this plug? But now my concern is that where did those pices of spark plug go? Right into my brand new stainless 3tec valves...I sure hope I did not ruin my valve job. Any way I decided that maybe I should buy better parts so I bought AC delco iridium plugs for 4.99$ each and then I got a mail in rebate for 1$ off of each spark plug. I sure hope that this solves my strange hiccup issue.

So I cleaned my 13" highway wheels and put them back in my room.

So here is the left over cleaner, this is a perfect example of how to reuse things. I take this bit of cleaner (simple green) and dump it in the toilet and scrub the bowel. Why dump out perfectly good cleaner and waste, use that to clean something!
So you use Simple Green to clean the bowel? Pine scented freshness. :whistle :rofl :rofl

Spelling mistake makes my night, thanks!!

So I don't want to get ahead of myself, but I think my car may be back to normal. But for some reason I can't tell the AC is even on. It's on blowing snow but I can't tell that the engine is pushing it. It's weird, any way lets keep fingers crossed that it continues it's good spell.

i wouldn't use champion spark plugs if a factory rep came to my house and screwed them in for free!

they ran fine in a carbureted 1962 chevy v8 and that's about the last time i bought any. :P

Well I can't tell if the champion plug melted down because it's just so crappy or I did something wrong to make the champion plug take a dump. But my car feels good now that I have ignition issues solved and I have no check engine codes.

Do you think it was the plug or my stupidity that made it fail?

So I been having some issues getting my tune perfect with my new cam head set up. I been emailing 3tec (Clark and mike) they been guiding me in education for myself. Here is a web side I encourage those who don't know much about spark plugs to read. NGK tec info
This web site I will read again and again because I have not been using my terms correctly, it's hard for those to help me if I'm using the wrong terms so I got to get that straight. I have even encouraged to run premium fuel, I have been running premium fuel since he start so that's good. This web site educates on cold hot and normal plugs. I was under the assumption that hot plugs have a hot spark- not true- so I learned something fantastic by reading this. I'll do more reading and I'll see how my performance/economy do and I'll keep in touch on that.

My guess is, there was nothing wrong with plugs, but when your timing is off as much as yours was all kinds of funky things can happen . Im glad you got it resolved and car runs as it should. Your comment about not even noticing AC is on tells me I should order one of those cams ASAP

I would like to give you a huge thank you for dropping everything to help me with my car, it was super nice of you.

In other news car is washed and I should get better mpg now that I've done a weight reduction on the car. I removed 10 pounds of mud from under my fenders and the rear skirt things. Holds tons of mud and dirt in there. Sure was a fun camping trip tho.

These are the nankang tires that have been talked about in the lounge a few times. Member BillHoo ordered his tires and this is those tires about 48,000 miles later.

Posted Image

I'm switching to some Douglas extra track tires, these tires were free and they are worn pretty badly and show dry rot. I have a spare and I'll run these for a while.

Posted Image

Use the harbor tire changer to undo the nankangs and mount up the Douglas tires.

Posted Image

Nankangs are off and ready for the Douglas tires

Mount up these slightly dry rot tires.

So yes, I ordered them a couple days ago. Are you saying these (Nankings) are good or not good?

Ok here is my opinion on the nankang tires.

They are light flimsy tires and a bargen for 33$ (get what you pay for)
They perform nice at highway speed 70-80mph they are super quiet low rolling resistance tires.
Performance in the dirt and sand is poor at best the skidding factor is weird because the tires in a straight line just...go straight lol. Turning performance is pretty nice other than the tires are slightly soft if not up to 40-43psi I got amazing wear out of them they wore even flat and right down to the wear bars and beyond. Over all I'm super satisfyed with the nankang tires and I am ordering me some more here real soon. I would give them 7.5 of 10 in my opinion.
