Like I sai I'm no electrical guru....the switch said on the side...20amp so if the lights pull 16 amps that's ok right? Or am I not right?

Also I did drive 400 miles last night fog lights on the switch was cool like normal and my wires were normal temp. That's ok right?

Two guys have said get a relay. I agree. The primary power circuits for the majority of the systems are located in the fuse/relay box by the battery. There is a reason for this. The manufacturer does not want power circuits in the passenger compartment in case of a component failure. :bananaburn

if you look again at that switch it is for ac use and it's ratings are for ac use.

there's a difference between the ampacity of an ac circuit and a dc circuit. i won't go into the particulars but you can believe me. i have been an electrical engineer for 30 years. ;)

use a relay. mount it in the engine bay. run a minimum of 12 gauge wire for the circuit directly from the battery fused with a 20 amp fuse or circuit breaker. install a 1 amp fuse in the wiring from the switch to the relay.

that will remove most of the electrical load from the switch itself and allow the relay to carry the heavier current for the lights.

Saturday I felt like crap so I just didn't make it out to do the car work. But today I feel ok so I'll get started on easy stuff, like lifting the 5 megatrons out of the back of the car.

Those jumper cables were a "complementary" kit from AAA and they were so thin I cut the wire and it was 3 micro strands of wire, I figure well these are junk so I made my own out of some long 4AWG super flexi wire and they work super amazing. The amp in the back is a 4 channel amp and it bumps my 6x9 speakers great all 4 of them are set to a mid range to e for the good quality sound.

I made the rear panel part into a speaker enclosure I used heavy rubber matting 3M spray and cut cardboard templates then made it from wood, so 2 6" speakers give a good sound back here.

I carry a 13" spare jack handle wrench map of AZ time belt water belt zip ties glovs wd40 hose clamps vac and fuel hose in the tire well too.

I took the seat out and I think when I drove through a river it got wet in here because it filled the inside of my car with water but I didn't know it got up under the seat, yea I had about 2.5" of standing water on the floor ha ha.

New split seats here I come
