:shake wish in could, the arizona sun trashe the paint in 1 year. I used medium quality paint and it just didn't last, I think it needs good automotive paint and clear coat to survive the sun. Also the front is trashed from all the rocks and sand.

By the way any one wondering how tough these braces are, good lord I was pounding on this thing with a giant dead blow and it's just really strong, or should I say springy, I could not bend it far enough to over come the spring and that extra to make a bend....strong stuff :news

So I solved my issue in my car of intermittently not wanting to go above 4000rpm.

The symptoms were- accelerating it would get to around 4000 then spaz out, cuting out and making popping in the exhaust. But if I held it down the tac would bounce up to 6-7-8000 even tho the engine was no way spinning that fast.

The fix- the distributor was messing up, not the cap not the plastic rotor, but the distributor itself. The old distributor mechanism has around 680,000 miles on it, so I replaced it for the one from Garys engine.

Were you able to feel play on the shaft, or is a bad distributor something that can't be seen?
