So the drive to work today was flawless through the entire rpm range, nice to be able to use all the revs I need. So yep the distributor was a problem and it's fixed

I run Chevron 5w-40 Synthetic Delo in my cavalier. Its cheap, is a good product, and my car loves it. Maybe because it fills in some wear

![]() Any time the wheels are off I like to get under there and do a freshen up on the black paint. I use a wire brush to remove loose sand and crustys then I use ONLY black cheap paint, I have never had good experiences with high quality paint under the fenders the cheapo paint works best in this situation. It blends well because it's low amout of pigment and it stays ultra ultra flat I assume because it's low pigment again. The black under fender tire well looks clean and nice again. |

![]() all the mounting tabs for the fan had broken off so i soldered them back up ![]() i purposely aligned the top tabs with the mount vs straight because this car has been in an accident 18 years or so ago and its still not straight. so i figured to adjust the tabs to fit that way it wont stress the solder joints but keep the pressure on the mount. ![]() yea you can see that things just dont quite fit perfect

![]() here is this random spot on the tire that has less treads than any where around the tire. ![]() i rotated the same tire a little bit and you can see how much more tread is there vs the previous picture. any one have an idea as to why this would wear out in one spot? i also think this is why i was getting a slight shake between 50-70 but if i went 75-90 the shake goes away its the strangest thing. its getting just about time for new tires again any way. i am hoping to get vert hubs so i can buy new tires and do the swap over all in one big bang. Just kinda guessing here---hard stop slid the tire and created a small flat spot and 'slapping' the flat spot it wore more and more?? |

thats what my dad was saying when i talked to him. ive only skidded on these tires hard 1 time. and that was an 85mph lock up. but i cant understand why only one tire would do this and not both. i bet there is some real complicated geometry going on here. but it nearly time for new tires any way these tires have i think about 24-26K on them (roughly 7 months) so if i guess correct i can run them till the end of summer and they should be good and wore out by then except this one tire that needs replacing asap. i also have a rim that the lug nuts are sunken into and im not fond of a wheel pulling through the lug nuts so that needs replacing. ugh tires are a PITA

i was wondering if burn outs would help bring the tire back round but.....idk if it quite works like that, im about done with the 12 inch rims and am about to go 13 with vert hubs hopefully and ill run the 13 rims with the low profile tires that think they are 12s |

![]() so lets see if any of you smart peeps around here know how to repair subs. This week has been some really aggressive record heat, i drove to work as normal i was running slightly late so when i parked i did not cover up my speakers, these sit in my back hatch clear up to the glass, any way after work it was super hot in my car got the ac crackin and put on some tunes and heard the sound i never wanted to hear, the coils in one of my subs was scratching UGH i thought to myself its because i did not cover them up they warped so i been driving around the last 3 days no tunes done 450 miles NO MUSIC so today i got around to removing my speakers and i did some testing in my room and it seems both subs have messed up coils, i can push on the cone in spots really lightly as it drives and the scratch goes away. so any one got any ideas or am i out 2 15"s?

some of the better subs can be taken apart and the VC/cone assembly can be replaced. JLs high end subs are like that Hart audio as well. what ya got? |
