Alrighty, update time.

1.Compression test = $0 190/210/195 so compression is good.
2. Drained oil and measured. = $20 for new oil. Car had 5qts. and it's supposed to have 3.2qts.(3L) added the correct amount of oil
3. When adding oil to the valve cover, removed dipstick and poured with a large funnel FAST, and oil drained right into the crankcase as fast as we could pour it. = no restriction from the head.

That's what we did today, and I'll let you know if it fixed my farts.
I have said this. read my post "o/f's solved. you can NOT manually flood the head.

why, when I have done these tests, must yall insist on going on the same marry go round?

oh well it is your time and your money, enjoy the ride.

I spent several months, researching and tearing down a fresh build, learn from what I went through.

some stupid $12, POS valve cover steel wool IS NOT going to do one f'n thing for your problem.

jack of all trades, master of two

if you had a decent machine shop they could look up these motors, and show you lists of problems and the solutions to the problem.
there is a upgraded valve cover that is supposed to help with the oil farts. has more/ different baffles inside, so the pcv valve doesn't suck up the oil mist while the engine is spinning at 5000 rpm down the highway.
other service bulletins on head gasket issues/ drainback holes.
do a complete rebuild yourself. find a GOOD, DECENT MACHINE SHOP to check the cylinder head over. or just get it rebuilt, new valves/guides/stem seals
if the block has major wear issues, get it bored out, new pistons/rings etc., most of the time the cranks are good on these motors. or bottle brush hone (ball hone) your current block, new rings and take a chance that the rings seat and don't let oil past.
don't use cheap parts. FEL-PRO HEAD GASKET. HEAD BOLTS FROM 3-TECH or GEO GLEN. don't rush it.
my rebuilt 1.0 has almost 100,00 km (60,miles) on it. did most of it myself, except for the machine shop work. I have one guy locally that I completely trust, the other one 3TECH. one of them is great for stock stuff, mike is great for performance stuff.
my 1.0 was already rebuilt, but it smoked as well. I bottle-brush honed the cylinders, had Jim re-do the cylinder head, installed new rings, fel-pro gaskets.
car uses a little oil just before it needs an oil change.
I notice it uses a little oil if I drive it hard, like over 70 mph....
but if I keep it around 60-65 it does not use oil.
I personally think that the pcv design of these motors is compromised by high speed driving.
