Low oil pressure at idle

I just installed a remanufactured crank with new bearings. I use penzoil 5w-20 oil. At startup, the pressure is 40 psi. As it warms up, it's 22 psi when going down the road. When I come to a stop, the pressure gradually goes down to zero, if I sit at idle for over 30 seconds. I increase the rpms a little to keep the pressure at 10 psi. I have installed an oil pressure gauge. Is this normal? Could it be my gauge?
Do I need to go to a higher weight oil? Is it the oil pump? Or do I just not let it bother me?

Did you check any of the bearing clearances when you installed the crankshaft?

The 5w-20 is not a problem i have 0w-20 in my oil sump with 7k on the oil. i am afraid to say it sounds. like the clearences at mains are to wide.

How low is your idle? Idle speeds below 500 RPM will turn on the light from my experience.

If you went thorugh all that trouble to replace the crankshaft, why did you not just rebuild the whole engine? I would have put in a new oil pump!
