Sir Metrologist

While true it *could* be your PCM, that's like number 5 on the flow chart in the FSM.
Lets start closer to the top of that chart. :hmm

Check your 15amp tail light fuse. This fuse also provides 12v to your OBD II connector. If it's blown, you get a P1510. ^o)

True.

Except I don't hand information over freely to those who fail to do basic checks. With a power supply malfunction the first thing before starting a thread should have been check all fuses.

Glen. On today's cpu controlled cars, when in for service, I use a 9V battery attached to a battery clip and a cig lighter adapter, Why, you ask? In order to keep the customers radio presets, seat and mirror memory, etc. any time I need to disconnect the battery. It also saves me time (20 to 40 minutes) with the car having to "re-learn" its idle. Check to see if there is a power lead to the PCM that is not providing (backup) power to the cpu when the key is off.

well fuses were checked already so not that but MAYBE you should assume some people don't know everything and they are on a forum asking because they indeed do not know. No need to reply to people if you aren't giving good info or are withholding info out of spite.. Thanks for the tip stiffchezze.
