Cool... Any chance of a pic of it as removed? So we can see the edges and so forth?

I will take a look later. If there is, I'll edit it into this post.

Well... no P/N; here's the back:

My first Metro (Christine) had this radio delete plate. First thing I did was put a stereo in and took that stupid plate and "threw it away". :smackface

I wish there was GeoMetroForum.com around when I did that :)

I finally got around to opening up the back yesterday to install the rear speakers. I had a feeling it wouldn't be pretty behind the trim panels. Needless to say, I ended up pulling out the seats and everything.

:( :( :(

I'm not in a position to do any welding at this point, so I sealed it up as well as possible for a quick fix; sprayed it all down with rust stop, layed in some aluminum flashing to cover the big holes and covered everything with some butyl peel-and-stick. I also slapped a few pieces on the exterior panels to see if it would deaden them a bit. Speakers mounted right into the factory holes, and the wires were right there, as expected.

So that's that for now. Everything sounds good considering what I payed for all of it. A decent budget system.

Your patch is not that bad for temporary. :) Heck, it will probably last longer than you think. :hmm Now either spray some undercoating, or brush some Herculiner, in that spot on the outer wheel well. :gamerz Other side too. ^o) We're entering the sloppy, salty season. :'(

Nice work on the speaker install. :thumb

Exactly what I was thinking- gotta scrape out all of the loose stuff behind the tires and re-coat everything.
