How about using a hood pin. Singular. One pin in the middle of the hood? :dunno

i would do the Corvette hood, it sounds fun actually.
Then you would end up with the front bumper on your top :lol :lol

my new replacement swift hood did not come with the recall campaign fix so i had to install the bolts myself.

use m6 1.00 bolts 16 to 24mm in length. you have to sneak nuts up on the top side to hold the new bolts. i used a length of strap steel bent to reach into the latch area with masking tape wrapped around the end with the sticky side out to hold the nuts in place while i ran the bolts in.

clean and lube the latch mechanism. make sure that the springs work to return the primary and safety catches to their proper positions and you should be good to go.

one more thing, there are rubber bumpers at each front corner that should be adjusted to prevent the hood from bouncing. when they are adjusted correctly, the hood will close and the front corners won't move when you press down on them.
A litte dab of loctite or a self locking nut would also be a good idea, especially for those hard to reach places.

i used m6 a2 stainless steel serated flange nuts with blue loc-tite.

i'm so tired of snapping rusty bolts and studs that i only use stainless hardware. every now and then i just replace nuts and bolts with new stainless nuts and bolts just so i won't have to fight with the hardware to do a job another day. :D
