Several door/window questions on 1992 convertible...

I am replacing door locks on a 1992 convertible and have the new locks in position. The problem is the other issues I came across at the same time. First, the driver side windows regulator works fine. The window crank was GLUED onto the regulator spline and I had to bust the crank off to get the door panel off. I scraped all the glue off and realized the splines are trashed so this is why they did this. It looks like an old crank broke and they mashed them with pliers or vise grips in order to roll the window up and down. Yeah, the regulator is fine but the splines are junk. Is there a way to swap the gear and spline part from another not so good regulator to this one?

The next issue is the triangular trim piece up at the front of the door where it meets the window. This WILL NOT come off and seems to be an issue when putting the door skin back on. I had to pull it up at a funny angle to get it off with this piece still in place. It will not pull loose, even with the little snap removed and I can tell it will just break if I try harder. I cannot seem to get the door skins back in position with these in place but I don't want to tear them up either. This part looks way different than the one on my 1994 base.

I don't know about changing the spline but if it is possible that sounds like a good how-to post when you get done.

The inner panel will go in with the piece still in place. It just takes lots of wiggling, moving the panel about to find the right method, maybe a little cursing and plenty of patience. Once you figure it out it is not a horrible task.
