If you own a 2007 or newer model Jeep or know someone who does, please inspect the TPM (Tire Pressure Monitor) Sensors especially if you live in areas where rust and corrosion are prevalent. This is a serious safety issue and sudden loss of tire pressure can cause an accident.

Every 2007+ Jeep that has come into my shop are having to need these monitors replaced because the corrosion buildup is causing the nut to split and crack or completely come off making for a dangerous situation. I am surprised there is not a technical service bulletin or recall on this issue.

Inspect the wheel where the valve stem is and take note of the condition of the nut holding the sensor in place. This is what I have seen on 8 different vehicles in the last few months................

Common issue with Nissans/Infinitis as well.... but there's a campaign/recall to replace the nuts.

Yet another piece of technology that never should have been put onto a Jeep!

Oh!!!! This only pisses me off. Chrysler and Jeep blow. I've got a 4000 pound anchor in my back yard because Chrysler doesn't know how to build a 41TE tranny that will last a long time. I hope they go broke and everybody in the corporate offices loose their jobs.!!!

Did I mention that Chrysler and Jeep suck?
