Tranny blew a hole in the housing above the right transaxle. Obviously I need a new tranny I'm just posting on here to find the cheapest good rebuild or should I head to pick a part? |

Here is another good option. Not sure it falls in with your cheap idea but it a good choice. http://teamswift.net/viewtopic.php?p=412708#p412708 |

Out of curiosity what would cause the tranny to blow a 2"x1" hole in the housing? The shifter felt fine and the flywheel would try to engage but no forward movement would post a pic but am unsure how. |

Did it run low on lubrication? |

Low on oil would be my first guess. But would have to know more about this unit. To post pics here you must first put them somewhere like Photobucket. Then post them here from there. Being able to see the damaged area might help us figure out what happened. |

Just changed both transaxles and put penzoil synchromesh in it about 3 days earlier no leaks... At this point I'm just looking for a reputable dealer to get a used tranny for around 300$. Majority of the sites I looked at have horrible reviews. Last thing I need is to get scammed. |

Literally had no problems then rolling to a stop light clutch in, and in first gear, heard a loud pop. She was done after that. |

That sucks. Did the old clips on the old axles come out with the old axles? |

I'm thinking the transmission fluid had never been changed and kicked up some garbage in it when I changed it. |

For it to pick something up and throw it between gears can happen. Not often though, and it means there is already something pretty wrong inside the unit. Pics would still help. |

I've got a good 4.10 transmission that I was going to save for Mythstae. She said sell it. Check your PM's. |
