I was 6 credits shy of being awarded it. Lacked Math and Social Science. Gonna look and see if all of the other 54 credits can be swapped over to another college so that I don't loose them. |

Just got a call from Home Depot. Have to swing by with two IDs and complete some paperwork and then I'll be hired on. Interview with CitiCards in an hour. |

Oh! Nice. Very good to hear. Guess those stressful days of applying were worth it. Congrats. What position did you get, if you don't mind. I will attest to the power of a degree. I have an AS, which isn't much but I haven't finished my BS yet. There are a ton of places that require an AA+ for stupid things. Like library consultant, the person that stocks the shelves, requires a BA. HA, seriously? The qualifications they come up with some times. Anyways. Congrats. The reason I asked for your MOS is pretty obvious, it could have a specific field that it would appeal to. I was a MP. I applied for several police jobs when I got out. Including an emergency line operator. I didn't even get an interview, just an email back that said no thanks. The guy who got the job had worked at Walmart for 6 months and was 19. Guess my experience as a MP and dealing with the emergency call lines doesnt' transfer over as well as shelf stocking. I know about this guy because I ended up getting a job at the electric department with the city and we went to orientation together since we got hired on at the same time. |

When I got out of the army, I had an AS already and some military experience without direct civilian application (oh, you know a bunch of different ways to kill people? Uh, thanks, we'll call you ...) So I got a job at a wrecking yard stripping parts, then talked my way into an apprenticeship at a Porsche/Audi dealership based on the strength of having changed the clutch on my '64 Beetle! Everybody's gotta start somewhere, sometimes several times, but you don't hafta stay there! Failure is not when you get knocked down. Failure is when you don't get back up!! Congratulations, Gary!! In a couple of years, you'll probably own the store!! |

Got a call from Citi this afternoon, about 3 hours after my interview. Have to go in Monday for fingerprinting, badge and to give them my vehicle info. Got the job. So, that's two jobs I'll have. Wish this could have happened about 4 months ago. Turbo - I'll be receiving stock from the delivery trucks and stocking the upper portion of the store shelves. |

So, I've been knocking out training with Homeboy Depot. Work there PT as a night freight associate. Max of 29 hrs a week @ $8.xx/hr. But, it's a job and bringing in $8/hr more than I was making. Interview with Citi Cards went great, and I start 5 weeks of training with them on Monday. Signed their acceptance letter for $12.30/hr, for a FT Collector 2 position. That's right boys and girls. Pay your Home Depot bills or I may just be calling you in the future. Interview for AZ Dept of Trans today @ 3:30. Hoping to land their Equipment Part Supervisor gig as it will net $47 - $52k/year, double what I'll be making for Citi. 2014's definitely looking better than 2013 did. |

Or, actively apply everywhere, panic and almost sell their Jeep off. |
